Bolivia´s Highway of Death

Just watching this makes my stomach tighten up. I cant imagine driving on this highway!

Could you?

no freaking way! I wouldnt! thats wildest road I ever saw in my life.. no way.. not for me, no thanks!

I've read this before on AD, seems it's been reposted shel. :giggle:

I've seen this before and no I wouldn't since I have a fear of heights,..

The road construction should have been done differently instead of narrow road on side of the mountains where there is hardly any room to make any pass!! I wud never take that path for safety sake. Nutsy!!!

No fooking way! They should have implemented guadrails.

However, I suppose it's fine for those who have a death wish.

I remember my dad taking us kids up on 4 Peaks in AZ and I do remember traveling on roads similar to these roads. I was hanging on the other side of the car for dear life. I told my dad never to take me up there. I hope the roads leading up to 4 Peaks have improved since then.

Sorry Angel and Cheri that if it is a repost. :dunno:

My parents and I drove the car on the mountains somewhere outside of Tucson and it had narrowest roads up there...I was not comfortable riding on that roads. However, I was glad that it was first and last time we ever drove up there.

Awesome! I've always wanted to drive at places like that! :)

Well they are supposed to be building a different road there, but I guess the gov't is millions of dollars short on budget and something like 13 years behind on project! There was show on Discovery about this road. Quite interesting.....That road looks scary enough let alone trying to scale that thing in bad rainstorm with mud and road going out from under you.

When I went off to Wales last July, I had approximately 10 heart attacks. I got caught with a "back log" and soon found out why, in the middle of nowhere, there was traffic.

Two coach buses, full of tourists no doubt, tried to pass each other on roads as narrow as the ones in the pictures. Some would give way and back up, slowly. All the cars behind the one who gave way would, too, back up.

Because the passenger side was on the right (not on the left as is in the U.S.), I was spared the view of hundreds of feet below.

I must say: because the roads were slightly more treacherous, people paid more attention to driving with caution!

Sure, I would do it to improve my eye coordinate. If I am able to master to drive on that road , then I can drive anywhere :afro:

Hell no! I do good just to up Mt. Magazine from the Paris side! But this road is worse than any US road even thought about being!
