Hubby has type O blood, and he has all his life drunk regular milk, whole, 2%, and 1%, with no problems. He has no interest in soy or almond "milk".

Right, Reba; I grew up on a small farm, raised on raw milk. Mom would pour off about half of the cream that rises to the top and then shake it. We had our own quart bottles with a bulbous neck. As farmers and Mom making (cooking/baking)everything from scratch, no cream ever got wasted, either. As a family, we probably drank over a gallon of milk daily.
Mmmmmm, sounds good! :P

We didn't live on a farm but we used to get our milk delivered in the glass bottles. The milk man left the full bottles in the insulated box on our porch, and we left him the empty bottles. (Recycling is not a new process. )

At my grandmother's house, she preferred to get the non-homogenized milk from the milk man (which came from a local family dairy). She always skimmed the cream off the top and saved it for her morning coffee. The rest of the milk was "skim", of course, and she used that for her cereal.

When my brother and I would stay with her, we preferred whole milk, so she would "shake" some for us. She always decanted the morning milk from the refrigerated bottle into a ceramic pitcher, and then set the pitcher out on the table before breakfast. She didn't believe in drinking cold milk; it should be room temperature. :)

When I was in grade school, we used to get our daily snack of graham crackers and whole milk. The milk was in small individual glass bottles that were served from a metal rack.

I miss milk in glass bottles.

I remember when the dairies first changed from glass to wax-lined paper cartons. After struggling to tear them open, we usually had a few pieces of the wax floating in the container. Ugh!

Do you mean that you don't have any milk in glass at any stores in America?

We still have milk in glass here in Germany. We bought milk in glass regular with special offer.

Hey Reba where do you live? If you have Hy-Vee store, they sell milk in glass jar! Regular, chocolate, and strawberry flavor! But I heard from my friend it is not cow milk it is goat milk:shock: I tried chocolate flavor and it was good! You can even return bottle for deposit:lol:
