Which....

Did you know that the small part of Omaha is in Iowa? The state border sharply winds around on Omaha back to Missouri River. I wonder about people who lives on the Iowa part would be taxed for Iowa property taxes and would be an address saying Omaha, Iowa.

I seen that, been there. It is Council Bluffs.

Funny thing... Theres a jail right behind that. Some ex-offenders tell me stories like... You can't drive that way you have to take the 30 minute long-cut to stay in the state.....
Fked up

Omaha takes over cities.. Thats why there are areas like "South Omaha" "Omaha City" "Elkhorn" "Dundee" and so on.

Look on map closely you can see omaha completely surrounds towns like Boys Town and Ralston. :)

Nothing to do?? I think you must be forgetting the camel racing! :P

Move to Victoria... you can get a decent houseboat for $200,000.

And we got these:

Beautiful! I don't have $200000 for a houseboat, but I suppose some unknown rich relative could leave me that much before we retire. It looks ideal.:eek3:

I drove through Iowa, and Nebraska. I think Iowa is more beautiful than Nebraska ...

Des Moines is beautiful city, and closer to Chicago, Minnesota compares to Nebraska - too far to travel.
same here, drove through both 7+times, Iowa best. in nebraska you'll find many sleepy drivers! if you hear me saying I'm about to fall asleep - you'll now I'm in nebraska! I hardly fall asleep while driving. and you'll find your best friend, corns, corns and corns easily.

authentic's last sentence would be my other reason why to live in iowa. not to mention, you'll be near (closer to) beaches!
(that's from coast girl). ;)

would you want to choose to live in? Iowa or Nebraska....you only have to choose one or don't post in here. ;) also, why?

I have been to both of these states. I would pick Nebraska (only outside of the big cities) is because that is where almost rest of my Dad's family side reside. Nebraska can be a nice place to live but can be pretty boring lifestyle. Like almost outside of the world. My Grandma was lucky to live in a rural Nebraska half of her life without dramas and she lived to 96 years old. God blesses her. I don't know much of anything about deaf life and deaf socials in Iowa but you Galen and other two that I know from internet. I was told that deaf population in Nebraska (only Omaha/Lincoln area and the locals) is not that large...virtually no other deaf activities or events out there in Neb. and the dramas and rumors goes on like a fire. Not surprised. Beware of this infamous STD infested deaf stripper and whore from Omaha. She can get any deaf guy whatever she wants to. It doesn't matter to her whenever she is in relationship or married to someone. Put your snake in your pant when she comes up to you and tempt you. She likes handfist in her ..... - know what I mean. Ty. lol.

Is Iowa School f/t Deaf still opening and running? Oh, also I was told by someone that most of the deafies in the State of Iowa are oral. Hmm.

One time I drove a car without heater over night in -10.. THat was not fun. I did it for 8 hours.

I was stuck on a gravel road out of nowhere off I-80 at nighttime which was suddenly closed due to black ice and blizzard in March of 2006. I was being snowed in while I stayed inside in my car for 4 1/2 hours....Thank goodness I was rescued by stranger farmer that owes a crane tractor/snowblower. I was offered to stay at his and his family of three's farm property for two days until I-80 was called on to re-open. Thanks to my ol' Sidekick for using a local emergency relay call. Whew. Had a mild frostbites on my toes. I was located near McCool Junction, Neb.

Theres a ton of deafies in Omaha/Lincoln. I was able to play softball games with deafies on a daily basis. There was a league where there were more than 2 deaf teams playing a night as well. Deaf umpires. Then on some nights we had to schedule our volleyball games around our softball games... It was fun

Its still open and churning out deafies. I seen more signers in Iowa than orals.

I thought you live in Washington State? I would choose Nebraska based on what I have heard regarding to deaf community.
