Which....

No one talks about Iowa, Nebraska, Indiana and some other states because it's not that popular places to live or visit. I noticed high percentage of people talk about Florida, Arizona, California, Oregon and New York, etc.

Post from hell, you have to remember that you have HIGH INCOME while most of Omaha residents don't make that much money. The poverty rate is higher there than in Seattle.

Let's go back to the Nebraska and Iowa stuff.

Well, I don't see that as a negative; the less people talk about Iowa, etc, the better for you in terms of keeping that countryside beautiful, etc. You don't want to be encroached by a hoard of humanity that would ruin what you have there.....I was born and raised in Minn so I know....especially the northern part of MN

I think I would choose Nebraska....

I noticed the vegetation in Nebraska is different from Iowa....they have lot of conifer trees but they are shorter than the dedicilous trees which is interesting and unusual. West Nebraska is higher elevation than East Nebraska as well. Which is about 4,000 ft elevation in difference.

 Like Indiana is leaps and bounds better.....

Don't destroy the illusion that I've built up around myself for the past two years.

8 more months... 8 more months... 8 more months...

Why do you prefer Nebraska?

The average Omaha resident makes a very good coin.... If you wanted to make mad money, Omaha is actually one of the places to be.

I drove through Iowa, and Nebraska. I think Iowa is more beautiful than Nebraska, and middle of Iowa is very freezing during March. I tried to sleep in my SUV for few hours, ended up I woke up 8 minutes later due to freezing, and start driving to keep heat running.

Des Moines is beautiful city, and closer to Chicago, Minnesota compares to Nebraska - too far to travel.

One time I drove a car without heater over night in -10.. THat was not fun. I did it for 8 hours.

not at all. They're rebuilding and in a very good way. Like I said... If you wanted to make some coin, its there. Many opportunities.

BTW, How are you saying omaha is going into ruins?

S-P-R-A-W-L! It's bursting at its seams, it's growing faster than you can say O!

Ah, how come you think Iowa is beautiful than Nebraska? That must suck trying to keep warm in the SUV in March....brrrrr!

:) I also happened to take real estate classes while I was there.

The reason for the sprawl: Money to be made, cheap living.

The houses in the $250,000-400,000 range has pretty much hit a stale point right now out that a way.

Yeah, of course. Des Moines is growing fast but not fast as Omaha, but it might change in the future. Des Moines need more night life, though. It's dead on the weekends, too. *yawn*

Why do you prefer Nebraska?

I prefer Nebraska, western Nebraska NOT because I like it better than Iowa; it is because it is on the edge of the Great Plains and closer to western Wyoming and southern Montana because it is an incredibly gorgeous region with those mountains, the tops of which I desire to be so the wind can rush thru the holes in my head! :D Go West young man!!!! I am an Emersonian-wannabe!!
