You're not alone, Gnarly....the average gas price in Seattle is $2.60...it's rising also.... :sadwave: cheap gas prices few years ago.

:ugh: I know what you mean Gnarly! Here in Rhode Island, tonight I saw one gas station advertise unleaded at 2.51 a gallon. I know it's higher elsewhere in other states.

No matter who you talk to, and who you hear talking, people don't understand why the oil and gas is going up so much when it seems like these people feel we have plenty of oil and gas. One has to wonder, if President Bush pulls our troops out of Iraq? Will the gas and oil prices go down?

When the world’s petroleum reserves are completely and totally depleted, and not a nanosecond sooner. We’re all going to wake up one morning and there will be no more oil left—not a drop. And then we’re all going to wring our hands and wonder why we didn’t do something sooner. But then it will be too late. We’re just going to let the reserves run dry without ever lifting a finger to arrange for some sort of substitute. And that’s when the world will come to an end. And I’m not trying to be theatrical—it really will be the end of the world. The entire global economic infrastructure will collapse overnight and everybody in the entire world will be reduced to the level of the people who live on the edges of the municipal garbage dumps in Guatemala City, or the squatters in New Delhi who live their entire lives on five feet of claimed sidewalk.

Fewer fun times...

I used to drive somewhere far and fun two to three times a week and drive to work. I don't do that anymore . I have to stay at home all the time now and I hate being a "home-body". I can't afford to spend more than 25 dollars a week to fill my tank in my "economy" car. I think back to when I got my first car in 1995. I think it cost me 10 dollars to fill my tank. I'm glad I had my good times going places when gas was cheap!

I heard rumour mills coming out their mouth... "not sure which it's truth speak themselves" :dunno: There's release possible 2007 - 2008's Electrio Car eviroment which not use gas less no longer.. That what my hubby told me 'bout it but coming from his work spreading rumour mills. He's working at Formet Ltd (making trucks frames) under "Manga LTD" in my homearea.. and also heard rest other companies has spread it out under Manga LTD too. Ain't alone.. wait and see....

If they do, I'll buy one and an electric generator if I can to put in the trunk just incase it breaks down. If they do make one, Yahoo! No more going to the "pump" for gas!

the day they make a no gas vechile is the day i ll trade mine in or just take the fuel line out and change it to the no gas ans have fun :) but for me i don't go out alot o have other things to worry abt in my life. like making sure i have a roof over my head...

gas price here is 2.75 in kona and 2.68 in hilo UGH here in pahoa 2.61 ugh

Gas prices are making my head go spin dizzy lately!

I should be thankful I timed my move to Knoxville right last May as the gas prices were starting to go up thru the roof. Before I moved back to Knoxville I used to drive 100 miles a day to work, spending perhaps 20 to 40 a week to fill up the car 2 times a week. Nowadays I now live only 2 miles from work so its either walk to work unless its raining dogs n cats or the weather outside is so damn hot that I could fry an egg on the road, then I have to drive to work.

My fillups plummeted from 2 times a week to only once every 2 weeks that I now only spend 40 or so a month on gas since last May.

don't forgot.. some electricy factory produce electricy from oil.

electricity comes from many sources--nuclear, hydroelectric, wind generators, coal fired, wave generators (ocean), garbage to energy and so on.

i still fill gas.. and pay $120 a month in gas  but only thing i quit is going to fast food restruant.. i feel sorry for fast food restruant, or regular restruants are starting to lose customers.. because the gas price are up.. and less customers go out to eat (this is what i heard around the corner) yet, i still travel far.. all my family lives 2 hours away.. and i'm only one who lives in this small town away from whole entire family. (now am having a thought of moving yet not too close.. because i don't like big cities for christ sake, big cities are gas gruzzlers.. since u're stuck in traffic.. you are accually going 3 or 4 mpg unless you have a hybrid car then you're consider lucky)

~ cars/ vehicles
~ carpets
~ clothes (Synthetic type)
~ man-made fibres (like nylon and polyester)
~ shoes (Synthetic type)
~ rubber tires
~ make up, nail polish, lip stick, etc
~ hair dyes
~ purfemes
~ plastic toys
~ black top on roads

So how can we stop ? It IMPOSSIBLE! it would be nice to come up with something else, yea!

want to learn more, just type oil , what are made from oils, so forth as you will get more information about it.

Exactly! This list you just made is just a fraction of the total list! Quit oil is just a dream! REAL IMPOSSIBLE to achieve. Even if we convert from gas powered vehicle to electric, we WILL still NEED oil anyway!

Where r u gonna get oats? Can you afford the vet bills, eh? Are you going to clean up after his or her business? Why do you think America quit using horses around 1905?

I think I'm gonna buy me a HORSE! I'm sick of gas rising! ARGUHHHH!!!

Many electric motors do need a bit of oil on the drive shaft to keep it running with less friction. Many things that has moving parts do need oil sometimes, not all though. Indeed, we are VERY dependent on oil! If we replace black oil with hemp oil/veggie oil, it would eat up millions ACRES of land to grow plants with that kind of demand, ugh!

Another rant

The local paper said that gas prices have gone up 30% in the last year and hit new record levels. I was shocked this morning when I saw $2.39 for regular, $2.49 for mid-grade, and $2.59 for premium. I have a Buick Century and $20 would usually cover my weekly fill up, not anymore. Everything else is going up, but not my paycheck.

The news showed prices out in CA - $3.00/gallon!! I'm moving up to Kentucky over Labor Day weekend and will spend a fortune filling up a U Haul truck. At least I'm not driving a Suburban or Hummer everyday. Those folks are suffering - big $$ for gas and insurance.

I was in San Francisco area recently, and yes, it ranged from 2,79 to 2,99 for a gallon of petrol. It was pretty expensive to fill our rental car up, which was about 27 dollars.

Back here in Utah, I am fortunate to know of a gas station here that sells for 2,19 per gallon, plus 2 cents off with member card. It is still under 18$ to fill my compact car up, fortunately, and the mileages is good, fortunately, which is 33 mpg.

I remember back when I first bought my new car, it was only like 8 or 9 dollars to fill it up full. So the prices have more or less doubled. :(
