FORD = Fix Or Repair Daily, Found On Road Dead
They have a bad reputation as far as passenger vehicles and SUV go here in the US. The trucks are pretty solid though. Holden in your country isn't very highly regarded either, from what I hear. They're basically the same company as GM (General Motors) here in the US which is getting a bad reputation as well.
HOLDEN = Holes, Oil Leaks, Dents, Engine Noise
ROFL - Holden in Australia is the same as GM in the States, yes.... But Ford definitely has minor problems but currently I own the festiva and has gone past 100K's but has not fallen apart and it is just like new, just excellent.. but I wonder why americans serves BIG cars? What about the expensive gas?
I'm ashamed to say it, but there's a fair bit of Americans who lack any common sense or intelligence past the ninth grade level. Here's a very good example of the stupidity I encounter each day. However, we're showing a positive trend toward smaller vehicles, as evidenced by the release of the Nissan Versa (also known as Nissan Tiida anywhere else), Chevrolet Aveo, Toyota Yaris, Honda Fit/Jazz and so on. I see more of these cars on the roads nowadays and that's a good thing. My friend recently traded in her 1998 Mazda 626 LX V6 full size car for a 2000 Hyundai Accent, which is a compact and she loves how she saves $60/month on gas alone!
I drive a 2002 Toyota Solara convertible. It has Toyota's reliability and fuel efficiency, though nowhere as efficient as the Yaris but it's a fun little coupe so I'm happy. My last car was a Nissan Altima (I think it was sold in Australia as the Nissan Bluebird. How I crave the Bluebird SSS and the Skyline GT-R! LOL) Anyway, that car was really good with economy and had just the right amount of power.
Not bluebird - Nissan Pulsar SSS
Nope, it's Bluebird. We had the Pulsar here too for a while, though it wasn't very popular.
Oh. yes, my bad.
BTW, I just joined your site... I thought it'd be fun to get to know Deaf people from around the world.
They don't make the Grand Am anymore, and they will stop making the Grand Prix in a few months. Replacing it is the Pontiac G8. The Grand Am was replaced a long time ago with the Pontiac G6. I like the G6 convertible, by the way, but to be honest we've had a LOT of problems with GM cars in the family. My dad has a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix with only 35k miles and it's already falling apart! We also have a GMC truck that's also falling apart and it's a 2000. My mom, brother and I all drive Japanese cars now.
Oh, I should add, the Pontiac G8 is the American version of Holden's (GM Australia) Commodore.
Mine Grand AM haven't fall apart just yet. No rust no nothing...I have it for four years and still running and you will laugh it is over a 175,000 miles on it, lol. Time to go soon but I drive until it dies... Great on gas! I like older cars than the newer cars but only Chevy of course. Just an idea I looked in a newspaper Pontiac Grand Prix or the other one with a sunroof that I might check out. Who knows or a pick up truck. But no Ford.
Interesting enough, no one wants the Ford.... my ford will be ok for me for now, but I'd try something different, a 4WD for instance...
Try to get rid the Ford soon, lol. I learned my lesson and always had problems with Ford. We are at Gas War right now...so my car is excellent on gas because I got a good engine and I always missed the good gas price!!! It is a 2.47 a gallon now and I got a full tank and purchase 2.73 two days ago!
Whoaaa! I just purchased the ford a month ago.... :S
And yikes! The prices per gallon? Down here it is 1.23 per litre! But I found in Sydney was 1.75 per litre, no thanks to that, as my little car is fuel economical!
1.23 for a gallon is a lovely thought to have it here!!! My first car given to me from my great grandfather was a 1971 Nova with a four doors, then later I bought 1977 Nova. I wonder if it is true what I heard that Nova was made in Mexico and Nova was stood for 'No Good in Mexico instead of pronoun Nova. Haha I thought that was funny bec I got rid of it anyways and have them kiss my u-know-where...
LMAO - I know where you mean, Mexcian cars can be a killer, I assume?
My beautiful car ever in my whole life was a Monte Carlo....God I miss that car!!! It was so perfect, all white and black inside....no rust, engine was in excellent condition...I sold it for 300 in 1990, stupid me!!! That was my biggest mistake. It is worth alot more now since it is sooooo rare!!! It is worth alot of money now if you have it alll so perfect conditon. Everyone is into Monte Carlo and Camaro nowaday. We saw a '69 Camaro sitting in someone's yard a minute away from here and he REFUSED to sell it. It just sit there in weeds. Every time I see it...Argh!
