What have you learned today that you didnt know yesterday?

I learned today that.... My daughter shoe size is 6 in womens she is only 11!!

She is growing up too fast

I learned that we're moving over 39,000,000 mph right now!

Should've unpacked the clothes yesterday but I didn't :o

I wonder if anyone actually understands what I'm talking about or believes me. ;)

I took it to mean

rotation of the earth,

orbit of the earth,

orbit of the sun

and movement of the galaxy around the universe.

does the universe even move? if so, we are going even faster!

I learned that Vampy and Secretblend know their math and astronomy.

All of that motion is probably why time travel and Scotty beaming us up won't work out too well even as the theroetical science for both gets closer.

It's a lot like shooting a crossbow shaft from a galloping at a bird in flight 200 yards away. They can only do it in the movies.

Smart boy!

The galaxy? That one thing I wondered about.

Theoretically, we're slowly moving towards the middle of the universe at the rate that it will be billions and billions of years before anyone even notices a change. However, another theory states that since we're being sucked in... all proof of time and speed gets sucked in. Therefore, our discussion would probably be considered "null" from that point of view. ;)

Is that how you see me?

 you two!

Actually I knew exactly what Vampy is talking about and I find it quite interesting.

And I know a bunch more of quizzical and trivial science facts due to the fact that I grew up around it. My dad is a high school science teacher, he currently teaches Biology, and as of next year he is set to teach AP Biology.

I have thought about becoming a wildlife biologist specifically waterfowl - just to have a reason to be in the swamps year round. ;)

Last night my girlfriend flew back from a 4-day college conference in San Antonio, Texas. She took my digital camera, and today I'm going through 219 photographs, learning about a beautiful and historic riverside city.

I just learned the sign for snow! (and yes it is snowing here for the second time this week)

My ASL retention has improved slightly lately. For me that is a giant leap for me- the new ASL student. :)

Reading another's signing, at regular speed, is very hard for me. I can extract some sign words but the overall expression is still a blur. But I am slowly progressing...learning a new language takes time.

What I learned today the movie "No Reservations" is out on DVD already, which I wasn't aware, this morning I brought it. Gonna watch it tonight. ;)

What I learned today was always wear your boots in snow as I wore lands end shoes canvas and i slipped down the steps with coffee flying all over my legs ( i was wearing shorts in snowy weather) I got wet and now I am paying for the pains! GRR

Today I learned that your average Tyson chicken was probably processed rotten. :iobarf: And that yes the smell of it can be quite repulsive! I dont think I will ever eat chicken again after this week.

I learned today that using place value blocks to teach subtraction with regrouping made it even more confusing for my students. :(
