What did you learn today?

Yo - I just learned that a friend of mine got implanted, then activated the very next day.

Never knew that was possible.

PFH: Really-strange no one else who has been implanted was activated the next day. I think you misunderstood your friend. Your skull is opened up in order to place/wire up the internal processor near your Cochlea. It takes time to heal which is definitely not instantaneous.-as mentioned in another thread. The exact time depends on one's physical health at the time of operation. The normal time is about 4 weeks.

Oh, I did it.

Got my operation done on a friday, activated on following saturday, and back to school on monday. I had my family drive me though, couldn't lift more than 25 lbs (I still did it), and had my bandages still on... Needless to say, I got alot of attention from fellow students. In the end it healed just fine.

I am pretty sure I understood him clearly. However, to think of it. You do what you want with your body medically. You can demand certain treatment. Hence you can demand activation the very next day.

Kiva is a organisation that specialised in creating micro loans to people who would have never gotten a loan through traditional banks.

You can pick a woman or a man to make your loan of $25 or more to.

It's cool thing to do. I focus on helping women out only.

Kiva - Loans that change lives

You are so righ! Before my Injury I worked with a group of 5 other professional women who did the same thing...we set up an accout under W.I.N. (Women in Need) and made loans to the women at the safe house we worked at for battered women and children. We helped with clothing for interviews and even got a few cars donated. I was so proud to be a part of that group. Lol.since my injury my brother has stepped up to take my place until I am able to walk alone and speak and get involved again...He stays annonymous lol...He RocKs...

I just learned that I have shoulder bursitis, which just started and that I am in a lot of pain... What fun!
(I had it before and now, it is back again..)
Later in the am, I will swing by the pharmacist drug store to pick my Rx up...

Got some snow last night but not enough to cover the ground.

I've had that in my hip in the past. it's no fun! I got the bursitis in my hip when I broke my knee after I slipped on a piece of paper. The bursitis took longer to heal than my knee.

I learned that booking flights through the "cheapies" websites can really screw you over if you arent careful. A hard $200 lesson learned. GRRR

I just learn that some people on facebook are nuts. My Ex-husband sister had spent $600.00 on Facebook cards for herself
