Thks....all the pollen I guess got to me and my allergies, had sinus infection, then another ear infection. The gland on the left has gone down but the one on the right is still swollen and my right ear is painful, so that's the culprit, I'm sure....no sore throat...slight fever here and there. Not to worried....will call the doc if I'm not feeling good by Friday for sure.

Ouch, I feel silly for griping about my runny nose (wipes nose with sleeve) I hope you feel better soon, keep us updated!

I'm sad and angry today.I was already sad before I went to school. :( Then the disability counselor told me to change my major because I am not doing great in one class. He said maybe someone with an issue hearing shouldn't be trying to go through their nursing program. It makes me angry because their are only a few students who are doing better than I. Also, shouldn't the head of disability be encouraging rather than discouraging?

DON'T YOU LET THEM TELL YOU THAT SHIT! Give them a kick in the ass and then go PROVE them wrong! Don't let ANYBODY ever tell you something cannot be done. Please don't let one, two, or even a hundred people stop you from a dream.

What a jerk your disability counselor is! I went to ER once and I had a doctor that was HOH and he was going just fine in his field! Yes the head of the head of disability should be encouraging you and see what he/she can do help you . I am really sorry this happen to you! Don't not let anyone keep you from following your dreams! I had this happen to me years ago , I wanted to be a social worker for the deaf and HOH , my case worker told ,
hard of hearing people can't be social worker ! It is really up setting to hear there are still people like that! Can you get a tutor to help you?

I am glad to hear that you're not going to let these ass knock you down! It would great if your disability worker end up having you for a nurse one day ! ! That would sweet revenge! I was a health aid for nine years and when I had to take my test to I got 100 on it! It the best grade in my class of 7 people! And I was the only one that was HOH!

That's interesting because the same thing happened to me. I had the highest grade in the class. I'm not worried, just trying to do my best without the negative comments.

Sometimes the negative comments can be the best motivators to SHOVE IT IN THEIR FACES!
I have been told on multiple occasions that I am 'too old' to go to college and begin a new career. The thing is I never had a career, so i have to try. :D

QuirkyLibra, what an aweful thing to say coming from your counselor. They need to be encouraging , you can do it girl!

Based on my grades in every other class I've taken...I am in my 10th semester, and also my current position working as a PRN tech in a hospital, I don't think he has grounds to say I should change my major. I am the first of his students to go through the nursing program, so I guess he is worried. Thanks Jiro lol :mad2:

I totally agree!!!

I had a counselor told me to forget about majoring in Interior Designing because of my deafness and I regret it to this day for listening to her. Tell those stupid counselors that they dont know squat!
