A gal friend of mine was a member. She had posted something and wanted my opinion on what she posted. She showed me a link and I read her posts. I decided to bookmark the website for later.

I've used it as a call sign for playing my online games. I had a couple others, but someone mentioned that I seemed to have an obsession with blood and fire. That's when I came up with this name. Heh!

I guess I'm here because I really never had many friends who were deaf, and I think it's never too late to begin making new ones. I heard from this site from my dear friend Aimee (not a member yet, but I'll get her to join sooner or later). I created this name because I use the same one for AIM. I'm from Staten Island, NY...and nope, I don't have too many exciting things going on in my life...and at the moment, I'm having lunch.

I come here everyday to check out what's news around the globe in the Deaf community and as well as meeting new people.

What made you join AD?

I wanted to mix with other Deaf people in one specific place on the World Wide Web, so AllDeaf has provided me the opportunity to do this.

Did a Google search - the search terms were "deaf" + "forum" LOL

I saw some of my friends here in AllDeaf and also, to try to fit into a forum where people are truly friendly and don't insult on newbies but being friendly and helpful....<----That's the honest truth!...

What made you join AD?

At First, my sister Cheri pushed me into this forum which I had told her about , then I saw how members are friendly towards others and saw how much threads and posts were made here that made me somewhat interesting in and alot to talk about and learn from one other....

Life remain the same in everyday... I'm full time working 40 hours per week... I check with AD posts there during lunch time. I come to home after work to my sons & hubby, then my hubby goes to work every evening from 5pm to 10pm. I reply AD's post at most evenings but at weekends is a different story.....

Earlier, I only had dial-up, so it was a pain to visit forums. Then I finally got cable, and it made it much easier to join forums and so on. Alldeaf seemed to be middle-in-the-road of all the forums, and geared towards younger group of people like teenagers to 30s.

In 1997, my friends in England said I look like a Belgian comic figure called Tintin. So, I started going by that handle, and tried to use Tintin75 as my nickname for AIM. It was taken already, so I used other nickname that time. Later on, one of my ex-boyfriends gave me a book of Tintin in Dutch language. Kuifje is Dutch for Tintin. 75 is the year of my birth.

Err, well I like to post and see what other people post. AD is a good way to interact online with various sorts of deaf/Deaf people. Not everyone comes fromt he same background, nor do they use the same method of communication.

I was a member back in the day when the site sucked, so I stopped posting. About a year ago someone said AD went under a major change. So I checked it out myself, then lo and behold, there really was a better AD. So thats why I joined.
