Weather Warning for the Midwest

No snow here.. had 60's today, also for tmw too. On Sat, the temp will drop from 60's to 40's but no snow at all.

Here in Wisconsin, the latest weather forecast is predicting 6-11 inches of snow for today. This will be our first snowfall of the season. Yay! If you look at my avatar, you'll notice that I'm already in the winter spirit. LOL!

Send all the snow to Tennessee, but don't let any get that far to the Atlanta area. :ty: People around here will panic and run to the grocery stores to get some milk and breads. :pissed:

Seriously, I doubt we will see any snow here since it is rather warm but that could change over the week-end.

Brian,

When we have our second snowfall, Tennessee can have all of it. LOL! By the time January rolls around, I'm tired of the snow!

Here in Wisconsin some of us tend to make fun of people in the south when they run out to the store for bread and milk because of a dusting of snow.

When you think about it though, many cities in the south don't have the equipment needed for snow removal like we do here up north. Getting an inch or two of snow is a big event that can literally put a city into gridlock.

Speaking of which, I remember back in the late 80's watching a football game on Thanksgiving between the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys. The game was played in Dallas. As soon as the snow started coming down, everyone left the stadium. My mother thought that was pretty funny and called them "wimps."

I guess my mother can call me a "wimp" too. I'll probably be a resident of the south soon enough as I've had more than my fair share of bitter cold, snow, ice, sleet and wind over the years. Yep, I think it's time to move to Arizona! LOL! :)

He he it does snow there. Better to move to NC. We hardly get any snow there. I sure do hate ice though and I really dread driving on icy streets.

deafskeptic,

What are temperatures like during the winter in NC? If I could stay in a climate where temperatures never fell below 35 degrees, I'd be happy. :) Unfortunately, around here, temperatures can be in the single digits or teens come January -- much too cold for me. LOL!

<---Praying for SNOW so I dont have to work OT again! I'm soo wore out from working too much OT for 2 months.

That was a fun night !...... After all of the ice let up, we got snow. We only got a few inches of snow, but there is supposed to be a little more coming. The big problem is the ice taking out the electricity. There are over 500,000 without power. I looked out my front door this morning and realized that I am going to have more firewood now. After a cut up my tree that is laying across my frontyard.
They are telling people to stay inside. Not only to avoid bad roads, but more importantly, because there are so many trees and powerlines falling. There are 25-35 mph wind gusts with heavily covered powerlines and trees make for soem dangerous times. Several small cities in the area, and counties have called a "state of emergency" Due to all the lines and trees falling.
I wanted to take Lilly sledding, but I will wait.

We received just under a foot of snow which fell from 3 a.m. until noon. The snow has stopped for now, but more snow is expected later today. The current temperature here is 28 degrees -- a far cry from the beautiful 60 degree weather we had several weeks ago. LOL!

hahaha @ Sablescort, I feel that way sometimes too...

We had our power turned off maybe once or twice this morning, it's pretty windy outside, but it hasn't snow yet, so RR and I are going food shopping later on this evening to grab some stuff before this storm hit us this weekend....

Keep warm everyone and my prayers are with you all :grouphug:

Same here! How long does your power OUT?? Mine just less than 24 hours like Thursday at 1045pm and would not come on till Friday at 6pm. Whew! I cant move my car so stuck there on icy/snow. I and neighbor shovel part of driveway before DD can move her car. Her car is stuck and so we try to make it go into driveway. That is pretty hard to do... Saturday, I have to go to work and roads seem okay but SUNNY that day.... still cold! winks. Hope those icy melts before snow again! *knock wood*
