We are having major flooding here.

Wow!

I hope you stay high and dry.

This was taken not far from where I live.

Sadly, some people never learn to stay off flooded streets.

That's so true. No cure for natural-born stupidity, as they say.

Dixie, I hope you stay safe and that your aunt and uncle's farm is all right.

Floods are hard things to clean up after. I'm back at the beach right now. Many businesses in Manteo, flooded after Hurricane Irene in late August, have not survived. Others want to re-open, but for various reasons the repairs to the buildings haven't been or can't be made.

Very, very tough thing to go through.

Do keep us posted, and take care of yourself.

Time to break out the kayaks.

My rental home was flooded when I was living in Tennessee. I had to stay at the neighbor's home which was built on much higher ground (across the street from my home). From her window, I saw a man rowing a boat with 2 other people in it along where the road should be. My then-husband later told me that he saw a mobile home had been moved across the road by the flood.

yike. i'm glad i live on top of mountain where all heavy rain will flood the towns below me :aw:

Dixie that is awful! We are praying for you, and your family. Please keep us posted so we know you are ok. How is your daughter doing?

Ugh! We are expectimg the system to arrive here on Wednesday, Just in time for the holiday traveling.

Wishing you all the best, Dixie. Stay dry.
