That might be true, Mag. However, if I'm in a dark alley, I think I'd rather take my chances with the pepper spray than be defenseless, or risk having a weapon taken from me and use against me. :)
 
Yeah, I agree with you. I just want to bring up that some people are immune to pepper spray.
 
Glad I posted this thread and I agree, we need to be carefull all the time, not just during the holidays. I wouldn't carry a gun because it could be used against me if the attacker/rapeist takes it from me. We can just scream from top of our lungs, fight back, hit/pinch sensitive spots, use pepper spray, etc and ran away. I've never heard of anyone who isn't affected by pepper spray until now. I thought EVERYONE would be.
 
i hate to say this... but it is more higher chance u will get raped by someone you KNOW more than stranger... i got raped twice and both times i knew who that rapist was. Im not say its completely safe to go out there alone at night.. but htere is more danger of being raped within your friends... its not neccessary to be someone close but just someone u know. just becareful

Actually, that's true. Women are more likely to get abused and raped by a known person, not a stranger.

It is true. It happen many times at parties, clubs and churches.
 
Research shows that women in college are in much greater danger of date rape than assault by a stranger.

But, Preventing date rape is very different from preventing stranger rape.

Correct, that's what the police said during parent evening. He gave us tips how to protect rapes, etc like what lisa's create thread and also affect the children, too.

We are total surprised because we alway thought that it's strangers. The police said that there're high % were raped by known persons.

Safety tip:

NEVER open the door when the outside is dark!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never open the door when there're unexpect visitors around when the outside is dark.

I only open when I was inform by the visitor when and what's time they come because I don't like unexpect visitor during late night.

During summer time is no problem because the outside goes dark from 9.30pm.

I told my children about my house rules:

We only open the door when we has expect visitors at that time.
Don't open the door when we don't have expect visitors.

I never forget as long as I live.
The door ringing (flash lighting) unexpectly at that late night so I check from kitchen window but none so we ignored the door ringing repeatly and wasn't realized that it's police when I saw police is around in my property and other police control my park car :crazy: I opened the door straight way and come to them but they turned unfriendly toward me tell me off for not open the door straight way. I ignored their remark and ask them why they came to me for? They said that they want to check my car. I was mad and told them off to not come to us at that time (late night) because I don't like it. The police pointed his uniforum then point their police car and said "Look this". I told them that they should stay outside of my gate and their car should park next my house then I can see from kitchen window who they are instead of go in my property and their car park other road because I can't see them. I told them if they want to check my car then do it tomorrow morning instead of late night then throw them out.
On next day I report with complaint and give the name of 2 polices to police cheif. The Chief give me right and apology me for that and warn them. :bowdown:
I told the other police the story about those situation at parent evening on other day (he made his information and tips how to protect from rapist, morder, children killer, etc.) He said that the police should do that in the light day when they want to check my car, not late night.

I don't open anything when there're unexpect visitors because of my and my children's safety during my husband's every evening absence (he work from 5pm to 10pm every day).

I know it's umpossible to defend myself against 2 or 3 rapist. Ohhhhh nooooo.

Of course we all know that! but she is pointing out to ONE rapist...
