Effective January 8, 2006, the price of the U.S. Stamps will increase from 37 cents to 39 cents as stated in this URL: http://www.usps.com/ratecase/welcome.htm

Just want to let you know in case you haven't heard yet! Yes, stamps are getting expensive!

not only emails.. also online banking, online bill pay, auto pay, etc etc can save you even more.

Exactly! That is what I've been doing for years and rarely use stamps! Oh boy! how much I have saved over the years... :-D Hey USPS!, go ahead increase the rates, and it won't make me buy stamps anyhow!

Well, you Americans take things for granted and have the gall to complain. You should look ahead to other countries and see what they charge for stamps. I know it cost more than what you pay for. 39 cent per stamp isn't much by my standard. Whoopee.

By the way, Australia charges 50 cents for stamps nationally and stamps to be be sent overseas cost from $1 dollar to $1.80.

Be thankful, that's all I'm saying.

:werd:

Here in Germany cost 0.65 cents for stamp around Europe.
If I want to mail oversea like America or Australia, it cost me $1.82 (I done yesterday for 2 mails for EUR 1.55 = $1.82 to America with no complaint).

I don't understand Americans sometimes about that 0.39 cents, gasoline etc... They should be glad that they get it cheap than other countries...

i dont understand either.... they should afford the stamps even through they go to their favorite cheap wal mart.

Well. It is not quite cheap in America especially for middle class because the big corporations are always rip off big times and made them very rich and more likely that they don't pay taxes or pay very tiny amount of tax.

You are probably right that it is not a big deal about it.

Actually, I have seen many American people are making a lot of money. I could not understand how they make so much money - even, they are not president or own a company. I think that they are cheating to make a lot of money somehow. I am pretty sure that it has nothing to do with their bank loans, but I cannot proof it. For example, many people are driving their very expensive cars and own bigger houses (3,000 to 5,000 sq ft - just for two or three people living in the big house), and a lot of massive houses on several banned farms. The vehicles and houses are rapidly this year. Sorry, this is off topic.

Miss Delectable took the words right out of my mouth! I need to pay more attention to this quiet individual who posts a mountain of topics for our reading pleasure.

I think the Internet is one reason why postage is going up and but I am surprised it isn't more. I think Uncle Sam should take a more entruprenurial approach to it's daily business conduct/affairs and we would be the better for it.
Thanks Miss Delectable and others.....

The gas price is a totally different issue, and yes many of us complains when the gas price goes up and I'm one of them.....

How? Easy! That is what makes most banks getting richer! Credit card and other debts!!! That is how they gone these extremes! Whats more bankruptcy is fairly easy to process and you could keep pretty much everything. I know that bankruptcy law just changed but that does NOT limit as much as you'd think.

Exactly and unfortunately your pretty much correct! But as for USPS, they are NOT owned by government since 1988! Government sold USPS to private owner.

if that were true ,it would not be a federally paid job with governemt insurence...and the pay check would be from a public bank...not the treasury. i have a few pals who work there...and they all get hand books about being a government worker, and bla bla bla.

you may be thinking of FED EX...which was never a government company.

the stamps are going up..to pay for all the other shit in iraq.

Damn! I had a feeling that this was going to happen. I was just at the post office a couple days ago and bought a couple stamps. As the lady handed me the stamps, I thought to myself... "Hmm... when will the next increase be?" Well, it happened!

Hmmm. I don't mind. But I want that ILY back on the stamps again. I dunno why they don't use 'em any more. :(

Thats what makes these stamps even more valuable! The more post office prints, the less value in it when used as collection!

Yep that so true, I pay my bills on line, a lot cheaper, faster and safer too because last time I mail in my payment through mail those blue boxes that are left outside are not trustworthy, I recovered that two weeks later my Illuminating Co. (Electric), Dominion Gas and SBC (phone) got their payment. Why two weeks late? So I switch to payment on line. I only used postage stamps for sending post cards while I travel or Greeting cards. :P
