Here is your question to me:

and do you think majority of Americans have computers? and access to internet?

My reply was "yes". And here is the support for my statement:

More than half of the households in the United States had one or more computers in 2000, and more than 80 percent of these households had at least one member using the Internet, according to the U.S. Commerce Department's Census Bureau.

The Census Bureau found that 54 million households (51 percent of the nation's households) had at least one computer in August 2000, an increase from 42 percent in December 1998.

Internet and web Statisitics-Computer, Net Access Standard for Many Americans

51% is a majority. And that was in 2000. You can be assured that the percentage has increased since then.

Now, would you like to apologize for stating that my reply was false?

1. people cannot afford data service nor fancy cell phone
2. majority of people especially adults are not computer literate nor internet literate
3. majority of people especially adults do not "chill out" at libraries because most libraries close early evening and the adults get home at evening from work. I doubt the library would be their first place to go after work.
4. radio & television are the top-ranking means of median to communicate to the mess because of mediocre literacy rate in America.
5. Just want to ask you - are you questioning my qualification and expertise in this IT field? to save my time - I think you should do a quick google search yourself to verify my statements

I'm sorry if the game got too hard for you. I think you should stop distorting my post and my intent. most of my post are ON-TOPIC. I'm questioning your statements because it's misleading and false. :)

btw - do you hate skirts or something?

please kindly point out where I said that :)

and I speak with reality and common sense, not smugness and superiority. Remember Y2K scare that you brought up? yea there you go :)

Jiro!!, Jiro!! :)

You would not be trolling a particular AD'er now... would ya?

Seems to me you are way off..

Take it from someone that is "viewing" this as an outsider"

Just like I have told others on this forum, I go where I need to go. However, I take precautions that are recommended. As far as travel is concerned, I will limit all non-essential travel. Why take a risk that isn't necessary?

And you?
I already take precautions because I have a suppressed immune system. I haven't flown since 1985, so it won't be hard to limit that. If I had an important reason to fly, I would.

Right here.

but the majority cannot really be counted on to think rationally and logically.

Reality and common sense? That's a good one.:laugh2::laugh2:

It would appear that the game got too hard for you. Check post # 141.

No I don't hate skirts. I just have little respect for men that hide behind them.:P

I hate to tell you... Since the H1N1 virus has hit land! As airborne the virus is.. It is just not a "Flight Virus"

As Jillio spoke before.. someone out in public sneezes. Directly or indirectly! You can be infected.. :(

Uhh...those agencies are medically based. And in those agencies are health professionals that advise the non-health related professionals. They are making their pronouncements based on the advise of medical professionals.
Yes, they have medical staff but that doesn't eliminate the politics in their organizations. Politics are extremely relevant in assignments and policies of national health organizations. Everyone working in any capacity of the federal government is fully aware of that.

The politicians are not responsible for medical reccommendations. The doctors are.

Are you for real?!

Who's advice, do you think they are relying on!?
You'll have to ask the fellow Americans :)

Mr. Magoo's?
I hope not!

Come on Jiro! You are pulling at straws now!

You actually think the President and V.P. are relying on their press secretary and speech writers??

They can make up their own speech and press.. Just like the media frenzies! reminds me of TMZ of the White House! :rofl2:

proof -

Notes - The President goes over changes he has made in a speech he will give to Congress with speechwriter Jon Favreau.

Checking it Out - First Lady Michelle Obama visits the President in his office on the first day of his term, as Barack speaks with Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.

yea I guess they do rely on speech writer and press secretary :)

Another words... It is already in the USA. and spreading like wild fire. The numbers keeps climbing.

It is not a travel illness anymore.... we have beyond that!

That does not support your claim that they are not relying on the CDC and the WHO in this situation. You probably should stop now. You are embarrassing yourself.

Right here.

but the majority cannot really be counted on to think rationally and logically.

right and? That does not imply they're dumb. Even intelligent people can think irrationally and illogically.

C'mon.... psychology 101! I don't even have psych degree!

Of course!!

And the advice they get is from the CDC and the WHO...

CDC is the only agency in the U.S. that can confirm the "H1N1" virus... So they ship those infos to the "political advisers" and then the politicians interpret it the the media the way they want to..

That is why I rely on the sole sources of CDC and WHO...

Obviously. You don't have up to date information regarding the number of Americans who have computers or access to the internet, either.:laugh2: Wanna tell me how wrong I am again, Jiro? I'd be careful with that if I were you.

and I'm not talking about CDC and WHO. My post is in response to BB's post about POTUS and VP not relying on press secretary and speech writer.

And she was talking about in this situation. Try to keep up. Maybe if you stayed on topic, it would be easier for you.

Of course!!

because you have the computer and internet. majority doesn't. and Jillio - I will get back to you about computer/internet part because there is a fundamental flaw in your statement :)

They can make up their own speech and press....
Having worked in the field for several years, I can tell you that they do depend on speech writers and press secretaries. Why else do you think they have them on staff? They have to earn their keep.

They also employ ghost writers, researchers, fact checkers, and editors for their books.

Of course, they always have the prerogative of ignoring their staff's advice.
