The Murder case of JonBenét Ramsey

I can see how that could be possible to be an accident but I don't think it was an accident at all. Why ? Because he wants to be spared the electrical chair or lethal injection beside that, there is absoutely NO EXCUSE for kidnapping and demanding a ransom and doing those sick things to her and I also think he should be charged with murder for Jonbenet's mom had cancer because of the stress, deep abiding grief so that is 2 counts of murder for that sick evil guy. I hope he dies in prison for what he did to that innocent soul and he basically killed Jonbenet's mom through her heartbroken deep abiding grief. The inmates will make sure he will be dead sooner or later. It does not surprise me if the morning newspapers and t.v. news blare that he is dead, stabbed and violently killed in the big house.

Not Judging people.LOOK AT ENGLANDS POLICE!! They dont waste time and scam of the british tax dollars. The really do protect people in england. If the Britis wasted time and scam off the tax payers those Terrorist would had pulled their plan off.British politics is not a three ring circus unlike Americas law enforcement officers are.

Buck .. what the heck are you doing?? its OFF topic.. JonBenet Ramsey's hometown have nothing to do with England police.. JonBenet & her family live in Boulder, Colorado....

Just the case being mislead... The Headquarter Police dept are very careful who they are going to arrest.. because of lack of evidences, dont want point finger to wrong person as suspect as we most all thought it was either JonBenet's father or Uncle or brother... now it is Schoolteacher.. so..
now.. let the case rest.. so JonBenet go in peace with her mom..

Go fly free with angels with your mom..

I dont believe it is an accidental.. since he sexual raped her and bound, tied.. wtf is that calling an accidental.. pffthh.. full of crap..

he just want media attention and your pity.. I hope he rots in prison for life..

I don't buy the Ramsey's claim of innocence. I believe someone within the family knows something, nor is involved somehow. Because based on the evidence, some don't make no sense, like there were no signs of a break-in; in particular, there were no footprints in the snow surrounding the house. What does that tell you? Someone within the family are withholding information, and the truth of what really happened to JonBenét Ramsey.

Now what?

They found the murder?! I am alit far behind the news of some recently updated... And one member in this thread stated that it was even pointless to discuss this case, and a killer will never be found.... Never say never......

I do not even know if they got the right person, But at least the case is back opened, and hopefully that will be the last straw to this case, it needs to finish what it started 10 years back....

i read this pointless thread and this pointless thread makes me sick for what those ppl judged the innocent parent for what they done to their precious little girl. my friends' friends knew the ramsey parent very well.... now the father/widow and son live near my home(about 10 min driving). those judging ppl and medias do haunt their lives, but i am impressed for what they still stood and they never point at those judging people and police. since they moved back to here, they did move on and still do.

ugh at this thread !

This will end up as a page 5-error correction in all newspapers. Shame on the Boulder police's inept investigation and also the steady stream of leaks from the Boulder County District Attorney's office about that inept investigation. Shame on the people that judged the Ramsey's guilty before any trial ensued. I truly believe that this ordeal drove Mrs. Ramsey to an early grave.

He is so pervert! :pissed: I dont see it's accidental, phfft, he did it on purposes...

I agree, CM. I don't see how this can be anything but purposeful. He alledgedly tried to kidnap this child, rape her, and then, kill her. There's nothing accidental about it!

Oh no - a TEACHER!!!!!

Isn't it scary to know how can we trust teachers??

Earlier when I posted this update of the guy who was arrested claimed that the murder was an accident, I had to think and wonder of something. IMO, I do not buy it that it was an accident for 2 reasons.

1) If it was an accident, The suspect could have stayed to clarify the situation with the police and possibly be able to work something out instead of running away and fleeing the country.

2) Running away only makes you look guilty than you seem to be.

An autopsy on Ramsey said a blood screening showed no drugs or alcohol in her body but said she had vaginal abrasions.

Lt. Gen. Suwat Tumrongsiskul, head of Thailand's immigration police, said by telephone that he was not present for the questioning, which was conducted by U.S. law enforcement officials.

But, according to what the general said he was told of the questioning, the suspect, John Mark Karr, "said he drugged the child." Suwat did not say who briefed him on the questioning.

Karr claimed he had sex with Ramsey, who was still alive, Suwat said. Karr said he then realized he had "accidentally" killed her, according to the general.

Wow, read this article !! It is totally disgusted !

Saw this morning and it make me sick of him for what he did killed little girl :( He look so quiet guy and walk around with police or guard that I saw on the news this morning that Kastlia show the url :)

I saw this a few times.
I think that it could have been a family member.
I think there was neglect, abuse, and tons of stuff that
we have no clue about.

I think there was alot of jealousy involved and I think their daughter
was more of a money bag than a real daughter.

Being such a talented beautiful intellgent young girl brings a lot of envy even from family members.

She was in tons of beauty pags. I know as you keep winning you get money ...maybe she felt like she was being used and didn't want to do it anymore. Out of obsessiveness with money they did the unthinkable.

I don't know, your guess is as good as mine.

Uh... is this yesterday post? Have you heard? They found a murderer?

His ex-wife said he was with him that night Jon Benet Ramsey was murdered. Maybe it was not really him.

I read an article about the ex-teacher claimed he killed the girl. But his ex-wife said he was with her the whole christmas vacation in 1996. Ummm--it may become a case of his word against her word. The police will have to track down evidence of his whereabouts during that time the girl was murdered.

He said he was drugged--I think stoned when he killed her. That can explain the "accident" killing but if he is really the guilty one then should be punished for it anyways. No excuses!! Also when he was busted in Bankok, Thailand, it was for pornography (dont know if its kiddie or adult). Sick man.

He will be killed via electrical chair or lethal injection. I am not too familiar with Colorado's laws. I think they do have the death penalty. I saw the tv news conference at noon and I thought that was sad and I was shocked and angry at how calm he was and the things he said just made me very mad !!!! I would of have killed him right there for him saying those sick things !!!! Did you see the interview they had with Ramsey's sister in law or her aunt and she said there was no accident and explain what happened to JonBenet unfortunately in very graphic and brutal details of the last few mintunes of her life being killed by that guy and she said that there was absoutely no excuse for what happened. I just wanted to shoot the tv because that sick guy was so calm and it also came across my mind that is one very disturbed individiual and he is also very dangerous. I hope they have the right guy and I have a gut feeling that there is something wrong with his ex-wife. It seems like that sick evil guy threatened and put so much fear into her that she is practically just following what he said to do and the police have to snap her out of it then she will go un-scripted and finally the truth will come out. Keep the Ramsey family in your prayers. That is a very sad and a very angry case the police and District Attorney are dealing with also that sick evil guy may be very smart which makes him more dangerous especially if they take this to court for the legal proceedings against him so the police and the D.A. are being very careful. I am glad there will at least be some closure for that family.

Reports say that he said he drugged JonBenet but there were no traces of drugs in her when they examined her. Reports are also saying that we must not rush into judging this guy yet.

Confession in JonBenet case questioned - Yahoo! News

BOULDER, Colo. - For a moment, it seemed the decade-old mystery surrounding the slaying of a child beauty queen had been solved. But authorities Thursday cautioned against rushing to judge the schoolteacher who made a stunning confession that he killed JonBenet Ramsey.

For now, the only public evidence against John Mark Karr are his own words. And questions have already been raised about the details of his story, including whether he drugged the 6-year-old girl, sexually assaulted her or was even in Colorado at the time of the slaying.

Those questions led some to wonder whether Karr was the answer to the long-unsolved slaying or a disturbed wannabe trying to insert himself into a high-profile case.

"We should all heed the poignant advice of John Ramsey," Boulder County District Attorney Mary Lacy, quoting the little girl's father. "Do not jump to conclusions, do not rush to judgment, do not speculate. Let the justice system take its course."

Paraded before a raucous crush of reporters in Bangkok, Thailand, the sullen Karr told how he loved JonBenet, was with her when she died but that her death was an accident. And while vague on the details — "it would take several hours" — he answered flatly when asked if he was innocent: "No."

"The bottom line is that they now have a confession and until and unless they can corroborate that confession with either physical evidence or strong circumstantial evidence, that's all they have," said Scott Robinson, a Denver attorney who has followed the case from the beginning.

Added former Denver prosecutor Craig Silverman: "I have to believe they have more than this kooky confession."

Karr told investigators he drugged and sexually assaulted the little girl before accidentally killing her in her Boulder home, according to a senior Thai police officer who was briefed about the interview with U.S. authorities.

Yet JonBenet's autopsy report found no evidence of drugs, saying her death was caused by strangulation after a beating that included a fractured skull. And while it describes vaginal injuries, it makes no conclusions about whether she was raped. Investigators later concluded there was no semen on JonBenet's body.

According to Thai police, Karr also said he picked JonBenet up at school and took her back to her home. But the slaying came during the holiday vacation season.

Karr's ex-wife told TV reporters she cannot defend him, then insisted he was with her in Alabama during Christmas 1996, when JonBenet's battered body was found in the basement of her home. And authorities have not said whether Karr could have written the detailed ransom note found in the Ramsey home, with its demand for $118,000 (the bonus that had recently been awarded to the girl's father, John Ramsey).

Even the Colorado professor who swapped four years' worth of e-mails with Karr and brought him to the attention of prosecutors in May refused to characterize the suspect either as killer or kook.

"I don't know that he's guilty," said Michael Tracey, who teaches journalism at the University of Colorado. "Obviously, I went to the district attorney for a reason, but let him have his day in court and let JonBenet have her day in court and let's see how it plays out."

Karr himself added to the mystery, telling The Associated Press in Bangkok that JonBenet's death was "not what it seems to be."

Asked what happened when JonBenet died, he said: "It would take several hours to describe that. It's a very involved series of events that would involve a lot of time. It's very painful for me to talk about it."

Karr's background includes an arrest in Petaluma, Calif., in April 2001 on five misdemeanor counts of possession of child pornography, to which he pleaded not guilty. He had not been seen by authorities after violating the terms of his release, which included avoiding child pornography and places where children congregate, such as schools, beaches and parks

Any previous relationship between Karr and the Ramseys remained a mystery Thursday, though both have ties to suburban Atlanta. District Attorney Lacy refused to discuss the case during a brief news conference and suggested Karr's arrest may have been forced by concern over public safety and fears the suspect might flee.

"There are circumstances that exist in any case that mandate an arrest before an investigation is complete," Lacy said.

Karr, 41, was arrested at a Bangkok apartment Wednesday, a day after he began teaching second grade at an international school, Lacy said.

Hours later, Thai authorities sat him before a crowded room of news crews. Karr stunned reporters by admitting: "I was with JonBenet when she died. Her death was an accident."

"I am so very sorry for what happened to JonBenet," Karr told the AP.

Thai police said Karr told them the slaying was only second-degree murder. One expert suggested his confession was geared to spare him a first-degree murder charge.

"He seemed convinced that what he said would make him guilty of a lesser crime," said Sharon L. Davies, a former prosecutor at the Ohio State University law school who has studied confessions. "It's hard to understand how that would be the case and how the physical evidence that has been at least reported about her killing would support his description of this as an accident."

Legal experts said DNA evidence will likely be key: DNA was found beneath JonBenet's fingernails and inside her underwear and authorities have never said whether it matches anyone in an FBI database. U.S. and Thai officials did not directly answer a question at a news conference about whether there was DNA evidence connecting Karr to the crime.

Karr was given a mouth-swab DNA test in Bangkok, according to a law enforcement official who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation. The results of that test were not immediately known. Karr will be given another DNA test when he returns to the United States in the next several days, the official said.

Karr will be taken within the week to Colorado, where he will face charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping and child sexual assault, Ann Hurst of the Department of Homeland Security told reporters in Bangkok.

Lin Wood, the Ramsey family's longtime attorney in Atlanta, said Karr went to great lengths to conceal his identity in e-mails to the university professor, going so far as to use a computer server in Canada.

Asked if authorities could tell whether Karr had firsthand knowledge of the murder or had just picked up information from news accounts, Wood said: "There is information about the murder that has never been publicly disclosed." He did not elaborate.

Karr's ex-wife, Lara Karr, was quoted by San Francisco television station KGO saying she was with her former husband in Alabama at the time of JonBenet's killing and she does not believe he was involved in the homicide.

Denver attorney Larry Pozner, past president of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, said there were "serious questions" about the case.

"I hope we have found the murderer of JonBenet, but I have not heard the evidence that compels that conclusion," he said.

Karr's description of the case as an accident also rang false to experts.

"It's hard to imagine a more intentional, deliberate murder than hitting a little girl in the head so hard that she had almost a foot-long fracture in her skull and then deliberately fashioning a garrotte to twist until it buries in her neck and slowly stops her breathing," said Silverman, the former Denver prosecutor. "This has always been a case of deliberate murder."
