The Magic Kingdom is about to get a little more magical for some people.
Disney has announced that for the first time ever, alcohol will be served inside the theme park, according to HLN affiliate News 13 in Orlando.
The company announced Thursday on its Disney Parks Blog that the Be Our Guest restaurant -- located in Fantasyland at the base of the mountain below Beast castle -- will serve beer and wine to complement its "French-inspired" cuisine.
While alcohol is served at other Disney parks (like Epcot) and resorts, the Magic Kingdom has been dry to this point.
Some commenters on the blog are none too happy about the development. "I am very disappointed alcohol will be served in the Magic Kingdom park," says Michael, in a comment echoed by several other posters.
Nonetheless, the news is sure to thrill many who see having a glass of wine or beer as a natural accompaniment to a nice meal -- or even just a good way to take the edge off a long day at the park with hyped-up kids.
What do you think? Will the availability of alcohol in the Magic Kingdom have any affect on your vacation planning? Is this a bad idea, or something that should have happened long ago? Let us know in the comments below.
