I have been talking with lots of teachers lately and am finding that the affects of the cuts made in '09 are showing results already. Class sizes of alarming numbers. I heard of a kindergarten class with 36 kids, a science lab with more than 40,... and a HS english teacher with 5 classes with an average of 38. Can you imagine grading nearly 200 essays?

Here, as soon as a high school course reaches 30 students, no other students are allowed to enter the course. It would be unfair to ask the teachers for more.
 
I am waiting for my hubby to get home so I can take off to PA...he is taking forever to get home. GRR!

Our board has been laying off teachers because we are lacking the student population for it. So there won't be a teacher shortage anytime soon.

Next time, you should listen to your body but you are not only one. Many times, I don't listen to my body but I still go to work or go out to have fun. My headache is gone. I forgot all about it, which is good.

It's not healthy. Maybe you should try to go to bed early but I know that you are stuck because of your two years (or 3) old son. Call for an appointment with your PCP to have your eyes checked, like persistent eye rubbing or sleep difficulty (like stress) or allergies or Eczema or inherited eye blood vessel condition, etc. I am so concerned about you, Shel.

OK, what about graduated students who are looking for a teaching job? Will they hire them? Will they making less than you are making right now?

Well, the reason that I haven't been on AD for awhile because I have been so busy taking care of my grandmother who was fighting against cancer. She was a truly fighter but sadly she has passed away recently last Tuesday morning. It was sooooo hard for me to deal with. I didn't wanted to talk to anybody or doing anything at all for a week or so. Just was really too upset and very depressed.. and have been taking care of my grandfather. He was very depressed and wanted his wife back but couldn't be here for us so I had to be around him to watch him carefully and he is improving much better right now. He is trying to think positive for us. I am glad that he is doing well by himself and started going to work and taking a visit to see us and the family more often as well. :)
He is very much excited for his great grandbaby on the way soon!! He kept asking me which is a boy or girl. I told him its a surprise!! He said, "well I cant wait to see my little peanut to be spoiled" LOL! I had the best talk with him and made him happy and shared alot of laughs. :) Thats what my grandmother wanted to see for us like that. :)

at least for now...... doctors are paid quite lucratively and that won't change anytime soon
 
Congrats to Hollisterbabe7 and LakeTahoe! I am so happy for you two.


My oldest niece just had a baby boy. He was born on August 4th (a day after my oldest sister's birthday.) He weighted 7 lbs 5oz. He's beautiful baby. When I arrived here from FL. The next day, I went to the post office to send her a package for him, which she recieved yesterday. My niece loved the little cow outfit and socks. When he gets big enough to wear it My niece says she will send me some pictures.
 
Went grocery shopping recently and saw 2 quart orange juice for 99 cents at Safeway and I went :jaw: that's cheap and bought one. I will buy 2 or 3 of them next time. :) It's real orange juice, of course. I guess Florida had a good year of their crops or something
 
Awesome Sequoias! If orange juice was that cheap around here, it would most likely be primarily artificial. You are lucky!

yeah, it just happens you know? Mine's the one with med pulp.
 
I don't mind pulp. I am fine with it and without it. :) In my opinion, pulp adds character to orange juice. :lol:
 
Iam so unbelievably exhausted. Girls' night out last night was freakin' awesome. One of my friends had the idea of VPing with my brother so my girlfriends (except for my best friend) can finally meet him because they have heard about each other for so long. One of my friends has a weakness for men with hot bodies but I wasn't thinking of that when I paged my brother to get on VP. So he called us thru VP and everyone got on VP with each other and I introduced everyone to him. My brother was with my other good friend's brother who is also deaf. So they are both sitting on the couch and iam telling him who is who when all of sudden one of my girlfriends starting making kissing faces at my brother. I was like, "huh?" and then all of sudden my brother started flirting back and it kept going and going until they were at the point where they were practically stripping and dirty dancing. It went on for an hour and I haven't laughed this hard in so long. It was so hilarous! No..nobody was naked or anything but close to it and whenever I would sit to chat with my brother, the girls would jump on top of me and we would all end up falling down. Now, I have bruises on my arms. Lol

Sometimes it is so much fun to act immature and silly! It was a riot.

Now, my brother wants to meet them and they want to meet him. Will be interesting...

Oh boy..that was so unexpected! But sometimes, that's always more fun! :)

Aleve really does work great! The only problem is, they aren't allowed to be sold in Canada. :( I'm not exactly sure why, but they don't! My dad knew how well Aleve worked, so the last time we were in the States we grabbed a couple.

So for headaches I just use no name brand ibuprofen.
