Brian and Levonian for replying about my page. The moderators keep moving the post to some obscure forum. I wasn't looking for a review or a critique but that's where they keep moving it. I was just wanting to share a bit about myself since I don't post much. Thanks for taking the time to visit it means alot to me.

I tried PMing you but you have your PMs turned off. Twice, you asked people to look at your website. That is considered "reviewing", which is why I moved it there twice. If you wanted it in "General Discussions", you could have simply PMed me and I would have moved it back. However, with your PMs turned off... there's no way any of us can communicate with you. Now, from what you're saying... it sounds like you want to introduce yourself. If that's the case, then this thread should be under "Introductions" instead of "General Discussions". If you turn on your PMs, then we'll be able to communicate with you more privately than here. :thumb:
 
vampy maybe she wanted it in GD not in introductions, maybe there was something in the websites that also proves where she is and what things can be discussed this is just my thoughts of MAYBES, as for PM and E mails thing some people perfer not PMs and E mails just rather talk abt it rather than waiting and delaying time??? its just my 2cents that's all!
 
LORI this story im reading now its MIND POWERFUL! IM so amazed at ur creative writing IM gonna keep on reading this, U have immersed the feeling and concept of the deaf community and its fears as well! YAY on u ! u did great :applause:

Thanks Java, I am glad you like the story. I love to write. People still are figuring out that, I'm not truly oral as I am not comfortable talking really, nor am I a visual communicator. I am not really good at signing it's still too new to me. The way I am most comfortable communicating my thoughts and feelings is through writing. When my hearing aids didn't help me to hear in 1996 writing was the only communication method I had and it has remained what I trust the most.

I had already introduced myself some time back so didn't feel like I should post there again. I asked people to visit the site so they could know me better because I don't reply much to other people's posts, I'm sort of shy. I felt like it went better under general discussion than anywhere else so that's why I posted it here. As for PM... I have had to many weird and perverted PM messages to allow for it when I sign on to a new place. I prefer emails. Emails I have some control over, I can choose if I want to read them.

I wasn't trying to creat a problem. I was only confused on where the posts were going and why?
 
I tried to post some stuff to your site today, but I couldn’t open an account because it refused to let me register without an Aimoo something-or-other. What is that and how do I get around it?

I think you need an aimoo ID. I'm still trying to find my way around it too LOL. I may see if I can change it so anyone can post member or not.

Yep you have to have an aimoo ID. You need to register like you would for here. I tried to make it so anyone can post but they don't have that option. You have to register.

Abt Buford sounds like he needs a date with someone easy:)

Yeah, I know—thanks. I figured it out later and registered last night. I thought it had something to do with AIM, and that’s what threw me off.

Hehe....Buford would be carrying a bigger stick than a baseball bat. But most of the time I guess he will be speaking softly to paraphrase Teddy Roosevelt: "Speak softly and carry a big stick" ;)

I was wondering if anybody here was old enough to get the reference.:D And you’re right—his stick was a hell of a lot bigger than a baseball bat. If I remember correctly though, they changed it to a baseball bat in the movie. :mrgreen:
 
hey lori I happen to read the story and im in SOO MUCH of an AWE and HONOR to have met another author! umm, lori LEtting u know chapter 51 needs a minor revision in the funeral part, u had unintentionally switched emily and elizabeths name in the wrong place it threw me off but i reread and turns out u had emily dying and elizabeth alive and it should be vice versa :) thought u should be aware of that, im going to print this and put it away and have my grrl read it when she comes out here it will help her understand the difference in deaf community :)

Wow you read quick! And thanks for thinking it was good. I'll have to fix the Emily and Elizabeth tranposition... the reason it happened is that the person Elizabeth is based on is really named Emily. THe real Elizabeth/Emily didn't die she just left school but it was easy to get confused when I was writing keeping her name Elizabeth instead of calling her Emily.

I'm going to be posting clues and interesting factoids to the story on my board this week. Pop over and read and comment there too.

I'm still amazed you read it so fast. It took me 1 year and 5 days to write. And I worried the whole time that I was messing up on the Deaf Culture community because I walk between the worlds.

some poeple might get *miffed* but ur story was extrodinary, u wrote the inner depth of ur own feeling and using some of ur OWN stories too, So that made it a heart felt reading! yes im a fast reader but ofc, I LOVE reading it took me 2 days to read this, Chapter 11 and 14 keeps staying on STUCK so had to reload the homepage of urs so i can read BUT I LOVE it all the same! planning on printing it out for my grrl! :)

I guess that is the one thing I have finally started to learn in that I can't please everyone. That is why I decided to put the story on an open website and let others read it. Before it was on a closed site where I had control over who read. I came to understand that the onlt person I really have to please is myself and if it felt right to me then more than likely it couldn't be too wrong unless I was thinking with my butt and not my brain.

I may eventually write a continuation or a sequal but for now I'm finished.
