Girl has triplets at age of 16
Girl has triplets at age of 16 - Telegraph

Amy Smith's three children, Lexi, Leah and Alfie, were delivered by Caesarean section at University Hospital Of North Tees in Stockton-on-Tees, Cleveland, on Nov 1.

Born 11 weeks premature, the babies are now being cared for at Friarage Hospital in Northallerton, North Yorks.

The young mother, who turned 17 earlier this week, admitted that she felt overwhelmed by the task ahead.

"I don't feel like a mum yet, I think when they come home it will hit me," she said.

"I'm a bit scared of it all because I'm still a baby myself."

Despite her delight at becoming a mother Miss Smith said she had no plans for more children.

"The doctors said that I could have triplets again," she said.

"But I've got my family, and I don't want to have any more."

Her boyfriend Marley Testo, 17, added: "It is a bit scary having triplets, but we've both got big supportive families."

The young couple, who live separately in Middlesbrough, make a regular 40-mile round trip to see their offspring at the hospital where the babies are continuing to receive care in a neonatal unit.

They originally hoped to have the triplets at the James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough but were unable to because of a shortage of special care places.

"Everyone in the family works during the day so we can only come up on a night," said the young father.

"We just want to get them nearer to us, so it is easy for us all and so the extended family can get to see them."

Holy Moly!

A big challenge for a young couple.

WOW! Young couple are sure to have triplets and not worry having more in future!!! CONGRATS to them!

woww..i am surprised they didn't even abortion or giving babies up to adopt..im glad they keep it.

Two 17 year olds raising triplets? Good thing they have their family and support system.
They will need it!

My only concern is the financial situation..one baby is expensive but 3. I just hope the kids wont feel so overwhelmed...I wish them the best of luck and hope they get a lot of support. Even parents in their 30s get overwhelmed by triplets but at that age when they are still children themselves...*crossing fingers* for a good supportive system.

wow that is big challenge for them raising babies as family with their family supoort system that is good thing to help out congrats to both of them as they don't have plan to have more kids in the future

Wow, They will have lots of work hard to take care of their triplets. I wish them Congratulations.

Poor Alfie is going to get teased in school when he gets older. "Alf!" like that dumb TV show back in the 80's. What a stupid name.

wow, I´m glad that they have their parents to support them with triplets. Best of good luck in the future for them all.

Good grief... I wish her to break a leg.

I hate to see her as hottie youth mother when kids become teenage as their friend poke as they probably drool over their mom.

Yes, it's good that they have their families. I wish them the best of luck.
