Tax burden in major cities

Thanks for posting that, Volcomkatz! That information is useful.

It also reminds me of the relationship between urbanization and increased taxes, but I'll talk about that some other time!

Thats why yall should vote republican State and localy.Cause democrats would love nothing better to do than tax you to death and make your wallet run dry.Why you think local politicans put cable tax on your bill? Why you think to put trash collection on your bill? Why you think they tax you on phone bills as well your cellar phones? Its Because of liberals.

Let's see... Voting Republican has led to the nation's biggest deficit in history, $8.4 trillion dollars and counting! Contrast this with Bill Clinton's presidency; He enjoyed Federal Budget surpluses! As usual, when Democrats have to raise taxes to offset the deficit, America will blame them for their ills.

Oh, some friendly advice... Find the spacebar on your keyboard. It's not too difficult, eh? :)

What's so interesting that they showed
no sales taxes on these particular states:

Wilmington DE
Anchorage AK
Billings MT
Portland OR

STATES WITHOUT PERSONAL INCOME TAX
Alaska
Tennessee*
Florida
Texas
Nevada
Washington
New Hampshire*
Wyoming
South Dakota

*Tennessee and New Hampshire do tax dividend and interest income.

The thing everybody tends to forget is that it all evens out somehow. Meaning if you don't get taxed in one way, you will get taxed a different way. No escaping them. However, it is true that some states are worst than others and two I can think off right of the bat...NY and Mass.

Eyeth is right. The budget has gone from a very large surplus to a gigantic deficit.

There are possible two major economic factors from budget deficits that can hurt the American economy. The first comprises effects on the inflation rate via monetization of debt. In effect, more deficit sends inflation through the roof. Fortunately, as long as deficits are paid through selling government bonds (borrowing, essentially), deficits will not create new money, which is the primary cause of inflation.

This is as per Friedman's Quantity Theory of Money, one the more powerful tenets of modern Economics.

The second effect to consider is called crowding out and can negatively impact a country's GDP. Here's a wikipedia excerpt:

Crowding out theoretically occurs when the government expands its borrowing more to finance increased expenditure or tax cuts in excess of revenue (i.e., is engaged in deficit spending) crowding out private sector investment by way of higher interest rates. It represents one of the major controversies in modern Macroeconomics.

However, this crowding-out effect is moderated by the fact that government spending expands the market for private-sector products and thus stimulates – or "crowds in" – fixed investment (via the "accelerator effect"). This accelerator effect is most important when business suffers from unused industrial capacity, i.e., during a serious recession or a depression.

Crowding out can, in principle, be avoided if the deficit is financed by simply printing money, but this quickly leads to hyperinflation as seen in Germany in the period between WWI and WWII, or in Brazil before the introduction of the real.

Most of taxes is important but don't looking at pocket of money, the taxes is just help to keep budget growing, send funds on public school, police station, firefight station, hospital, growing more business and other system too. Also, taxes are just help to maintain the highway, road and other send budget on transportation including public transportation too. Sweden and Denmark are known as most tax countries that where Human Development Index (HDI) is highest than USA does and college is free for students in both of 2 countries because of high tax is paid all of them. Unlike in USA, you must pay to attend college except for most deaf people that who got alot of support from VR and other organizations.

I have no problem with taxes in LA area and nothing to bother me because we probably have high minimum wage in USA, $9 per hours with health benefits and $10 per hours with health benefits. It's good because I made alot of money before I quit it during limited activities at school because I have need more time to relax and chat with people. Property tax are exempt from rental properties, its means including managed apartment and other rental properties that managed by real estate agents.

I live in Florida,Im not Retired yet.But there are states offering RETIREES INCOME-TAX BREAKS Like
Arizona,Arkansas,Colorado,Hawaii,Illinois,Kentucky,Louisiana,Maryland,Michigan,Montana New York,North Dakota,Ohio,Oklahoma,Pennsylvania,Utah

Florida should Offer retiree Income Tax Breaks when the pass an 10% Income tax.

But id wouldnt mind Florida creating a 10% Income State tax But Drop the Sales taxes.Cause a lot of Rich people live in florida. But If youre making less than $20,000 in Florida you pay No Income tax.And id wont mind them Taxing property $975 Every 2 acres.

It's true, I don't complain about taxes issue and I can live in NYC in other day because I don't care about high tax though.

If anyone said LA, Miami or NYC is expensive for simple thing in first place then they don't know how to use wise and not know to how curve with their budget, also need more figure out if make right for them though.

I think it's time for you to buy a new keyboard.

I work for the local city and they tax people thru property tax and fees for trash and water. All that money goes to pay for the city employees and other services provided by the city--trash pickup service and water pumps/pipe repairs, street repairs, etc. It has nothing to do with republicans or democrats at the local level. It is decided by the city alone. :thumb:

Yea, it's true. :)

23 Minneapolis MN $2,936 $2,582 $997 $447 $6,962 9.30%

Not bad for the Twin Cities, ranking 23rd.

#28 is Columbia, SC, at 9%. That's about 100 miles upstate but I think the figures are pretty close for this area.
