Talking tombstones bear messages from the grave

LONDON, England (Reuters) -- The dead could soon be speaking from the grave if an American inventor's plan becomes reality.

Robert Barrows, of Burlingame, California has filed a patent application for a video-equipped tombstone that will display a video message from the grave's occupant.

"If his patent is granted, Barrows hopes that when people make out their will, they also leave a parting video with their lawyer," New Scientist magazine said on Wednesday.

Why is this nuts? I think it would be awesome to perserve a copy of yourself for your descendants to come. Imagine 200 years from now, your great-great-great-grandchildren would be doing family tree, and all they have to do is press some screen and ah! so this was my great-great-great-grandparents! This is how they lived, etc...

I am an avid genealogist and I wish I could have this technology available to me since hundreds of year so I would have no problem doing my family tree ;)
 
Well, tombstones don't always last long. Secondly, lots of tombstones take a beating so I wouldn't be surprised if these were the first to go. :crazy:
 
i support that idea.. i think this is an awesome idea.. giving ur future generations on how u look like, etc.. i think this is a good idea. i would love to have those on my tombstone :D
 
Imagine one night, there is a glitch in system, and at 1 in the morning, the whole cemetery starts talking. People would get so mad, and call the police.

"9-1-1, what is your emergency?"
"The cemetery is talking again!"
"Ah, thanks, we will send somone."

no pixs sowwy :( mebbe at some point will have pix who knows :dunno:
 
That is a quite interesting. I wish I could see a picture or something like that.. that is kind of creepy but okay.
