Should we censor TV at all ?

Y,

I wonder if all candidates will do the same thing when once become President ? Is there a single black President before? If, not.. then, they will not accept deaf President, will they ? Is that discrimination in the eye of all deafies ? I just wonder ...

There is one thing i do NOT like politics too much because
almost all of these politicans usually break their promises vaguely.
Laws and discriminations are almost always vague.

No one has really pointed out where this information was stated. I'd rather see a real article about this before complaining about this issue.

thats why it's usually a good idea to
focus on resolving these
captioning issues on both TV AND Movies
and we ought to IGNORE
about who said this or that...

Who can enforce
new rules to all of these
movie productions that they
are required to caption all
of these NEW movies BEFORE
they go out to the public ???

I'm talking about current movies,
NOT TV so that way we do NOT have
to wait until these DVD/VCR videotapes
produced and distributed at these
rental stores (e.g. Blockbuster/Hollywood Videos, etc)

Sometimes I feel embarrassed to
share and discuss
with some hearing friends about
some movies...Since these
movies were already too old
and out-of-date, they were
NO Longer interested in
discuss this "OLD NEWS".....

If this really happen then I'm gonna sue them.

It was already stated as a law that CC should appear on almost every TV show, no matter how apporiate or inappoarite it is, we are still part of the audience and whoever said is goin to discontinue CC is violating our rights and the way to watch Entertainment...so if that what they are really planning to do, then I, as an deaf American citizen, do have the right to sue them and tell them they were disrepecting the deaf and hard of hearing people and are left out of the audience just because it's inapporiate and hearing people just get to stay in? Now that is very wrong and stupid.

Who's with me on this?

You're right that they're wrong for dis-continue CC.
Hope it is only a rumor, not a true story.
Just wait and see.

I wonder what were they ("decision makers")
thinking of us ?

They probably assume that
deaf people are "too chicken"
and/or "too weak" to file a lawsuit.

Why point the finger at Bush? He's not the one with all the power in his hands.

Instead, the People should be knocked to their senses. We have the power to change that decision.

Yes, But that depends how many votes we will have to win this.. But Bush makes the final Decision not us people. He is the President of the US.. So he has more power than us.

If he makes the final decision and still say no CC...

I'd proably be the first deaf assassign in America... *cocks sniper rifle*

Excuse us! It's Bush! He has the POWER to veto or allow the bills that pass thru the house! Don't you know your goverment shit, you should've learn about them in school! Bush is the one who RUNS the country so therefore he knows what goes on and has the authorize to say yes or no so I personally hold him responible for shattering our future!

Yep, you are right... but remma when we have the (ex) President Clinton runnin' at the White House at that time and people wanted to impeach him. Ex-President Clinton refused to step down. (It had to do with Monica case) I was floored when I learned that he refused to step down after people protested and wanted him impeached ...
So, who is goin' to change that decision ? Us? I don't think so ...

No, the IC Committee decided that there was so reason to impeach Clinton, so Clinton could go on as a President until when his term was over.

Why wait until his term was over ? I don't like that idea

No, Clinton was acquitted of all his charges, meaning he is a free man and could go on with his term.

Oh.. yikes ! Well, I am glad that I don't vote ANY president *Whew* It's best to be a fugitive rather than to be a USA citizen - IMO

Actually, it is true that over 200 shows were declared inappropriate for spending the money on these shows when they should be spent on educational shows instead.

The law still require the TV shows to be captioned anyway, so no worries!

uh my stepfather has joined the gun club more than two years ago and owns more than 30 types of guns, including the shotgun and magums...he's a cowboy wannabe, but most of the weapons are quite deadly and dangerous and he has taught me many times with the rifle, and I hit afew targets of the nuts that were thrown onto the lake...

DIRT AND ALL BABY!

Yeah I recall that there was a law requiring CC's on 100% of prime-time programming by 2K5 yet one problem lies:

The producers moan and bitch about how it costs to CC a show yet pay their prima-donna stars 100K to 1.5 million a show. If the producers can afford that why not just be able to pay $1,000 to $10,000 to CC a show...that's fuckin' peanuts compared to paying the actors and crew. The producers would rather stick the cost of the CC's to the Government.

Anyone rememebers the America with Disablity Act? well, the Closed Capitoning should be part of that, and if they discontinue the CC, then they are breakin the disablity act.

Thanks!

Yeah, I'm always hearing rumors all the time relating to a lot of things. For instance, my friend came to me with a printed out email of his that said that the government would shut down all captioning in 2001. I told him it was bullshit, but he kept rambling on about how it was true and that everyone should be upset about it. I never saw any article about it. No faculty/staff member at school could confirm it... including one guy who has close relations with media sources. By 2002, nothing happened. I saw my friend again and said, "Hey, I thought the captioning disappeared?" He responded, "I don't know what you're talking about." Heh! Denial! Now, it's 2004. Nothing's happened yet. Now, they're coming up with this kind of rumor. Usually, it's one person who decided to get carried away and exaggerate information like this.

Sponsorship, that's the key.

In Hollywood, the producers has been overspending more and more by the year by year.

It's quite a big problem, and I don't think it is a good idea to give people a salary of $30 million.

That's why many producers are struggling to make a profit on their stupid crappy blockbuster flops.
