Sex Toys Ban in Alabama

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (April 30) - Sex toys are still against the law in Alabama, at least as far as the Alabama Legislature is concerned.

The Alabama House voted against a bill Tuesday that would have removed a ban on sexual devices, such as vibrators, from the state's obscenity law. The ban on sexual devices was added at the last minute when the obscenity law passed the Legislature in 1998.

A federal district judge in Birmingham has twice ruled that the ban is unconstitutional. The first ruling was overturned by the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals and the second ruling has been appealed to the appeals court.

The sponsor of the bill, Rep. John Rogers, D-Birmingham, said because of the court ruling, the obscenity law is unenforceable as long as it contains the ban on sex toys.

''All this does is make our obscenity law constitutional,'' Rogers said.

With little serious discussion, the House voted 37-28 to leave the sex toys ban in state law, leaving Rogers standing at the microphone shaking his head.

''What you just did is make our obscenity law illegal. You voted for obscenity,'' Rogers shouted at lawmakers.



Wondering if they could order thru online or go to another state to buy them.... Anyone who lives in Alabama... please could you explain about that one ??? :shock:
 
Well as far as I know if police find that you have sex toys with you somehow...you can get trouble for that because you broke Alabama's law -- obscenity law. Its serious shit. Im not sure what they'd do...mabye give them FINES or throw them in jail OR BOTH? Who knows. It'll be interesting to know more about it whoever is from Alabama since I don't live in Ala so I don't know much about their Obscenity law.

<--- very grateful for not living in Bama big time. No offended to anyone who lives or lived there. Rather using didlo than find someone for laid (high risk for getting STD). Didlo is low risk for getting STD unless not sharing with anyone but urself.
Bama ppl need more time to research and start poll on Bama and out of states residents about should use didlo or what?
Some states have strong religious background like Bama. They did not pass the laws for banned for using didlo but Bama oh my.... I feel sorry for ppl who live in Bama.
I still saying "Bama" as Alabama. no offended again!
