HOMOSASSA -- When Jessica Marie Lunsford went out to play, her father and grandparents knew she'd come home when she was supposed to.
As hundreds searched Saturday for the missing 9-year-old, relatives, friends and church leaders described the girl with the wide smile as responsible, conscientious and mature for her age.
Days after Jessie was last seen being lovingly tucked into bed by her grandmother, the family wondered if they would ever see her again. The girl lived with her father and grandparents. Her mother planned to travel from Ohio to Florida to join the search.
Mark Lunsford is convinced his daughter was abducted, but he can't understand how or why. He said his mother woke up Saturday screaming for the missing girl.
