Computer Disc Found In Iraq Contained Information About U.S. Schools

WASHINGTON -- Sources say eight school districts in six states were warned last month by federal law enforcement agents that a computer disc found in Iraq contained photos, floor plans and other information about their schools.

One official says the data, publicly available on the Internet, included Education Department crisis guidelines for schools.

The eight districts are in Georgia, Florida, Michigan, New Jersey, Oregon and California. The officials say FBI agents in those areas alerted local education and police officials.

The government says that the warnings do not mean an attack is being planned.

Still, school officials are being warned to watch for those spying on their buildings or buses.

Yes, it would be awful if something happened in an American school, like the attack that happened to those poor children in Russia. :(

I did come across some news about being alert to suspicious activity or any unusual people either on or near school grounds and nothing was indicated that there was any such attack planned out...but the warning comes on the heels of the tragic attack that took place in Russia....

Let's just pray and hope NOTHING like this will ever take place in the schools of our children!!! This isn't the time to panick but to be more alert to what goes on around the schools.... ;)

Eek! That's freaky!

I'd think it was weird of they found blueprints of RIT in Iraq!

how the heck did they get those prints anyway? perhas some janitor or whatever like that was from Iraq and stole the blueprints and mailed it to Iraq or something like that

Two schools in my hometown in NJ were warned that their websites were looked through from Iraqi addresses. They didn't know what to make out of it, but they are trying to take all measures to be prudent about any suspicious activities.

Actually, from what I believe... most copies of blueprints can be accessed via city hall.
