I recieved a message from someone with the screenname julliet23 asking to chat on Yahoo IM. So I do, and a little ways into the conversation she brings up that she's from West Africa, and she asks if she can trust me with money. This is a particular style of scam that has been going on lately. Do not buy into this, please. You will lose money, instead of gaining.

Check out 419eater.com or http://www.scamorama.com/ for more information in scams like these.

Big, huge, grandoise, Titanic RED FLAG!!! indeedly your right to suspect! Trust with my money? Something's FISHY, perhaps 500 ton fish!

I recieved e-mail from someone last Fall. I looked at subject: "Urgent" I was puzzle and I opened someone's e-mail and read it. He asked me about the money. He is from Africa. I clicked the spam on him. I keep recieved few e-mails from different people but I won't open their e-mails then I clicked the spam on them. I know Africa or UK people want the money from me. I won't give them the money. :nono:

Anyone that reads this, there could be more than just this one person on here trying to find victims, so just be careful who you talk to. If someone PMs you randomly who has no posts and just recently signed up, be suspicious.

Also, do not publicly post your e-mail address.

Also, dont publicly post your AIM, Yahoo, ICQ, MSN s/ns here either. Give them only out via PM.

in an hr ago i got imed from julliet_johnson23 in yahoo im. i blocked her, anyway.

Unbelievable!!!!

:ty: Cental34 for the warning, I will be on the watchout and block this nervy person. People like that can be scary huh? Thanks again!!

I get plenty of similar things like that thru my junk e-mail, I delete it everytime :P it's annoying with so many junk e-mail in my box!

I'm glad I can get the word out. First they use relay to try to scam people, and now lurking on deaf forums. Almost makes me think they are purposely targeting the deaf community.

Don't think you can't trust anyone, but just be careful who you keep in contact with. Don't give out personal information, until you know for sure you can trust them. And even then, be careful.

And Philliines too, she chatted with me and asked to make a loves and need money, I told her "I'm sorry, I cannot loan you a money you'll get big troubles" and she begged me and I decided to block on her..

Good idear! I got IMd by some weird guy who was looking for info on some game or charector, and got sent to here and he apparently decided to add my sn to his buddy list. I don't know him, either through here or any other place, but he constantly IMs me....and it drives me insane...I have nothing to say to him, and he's a stupid doofy American type......arughhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

that's why I decided to delete my aim sns and email info on this site cuz lately people lurk and try to bug me so I ain't worried ;) and I never use yahoo messanger that often anyways :D

the way this type of scam works....they IM you on aim and say that they work for a bank, and that someone died, and they cant find a relative to give the money that the dead person had. so the bank is going to keep it. but the guy IM's you and asks if you can come in and pretend to be a relative and you get the money (usually more than a million dollars). after that they want 70% of the money and you keep the other 30%.

but while talking about it...they say you have to pay a lawyer to come in for you..because your not in africa/phillipines/argentina/ etc. so they say the lawyer costs 600 dollars.

that lawyer isnt really a lawyer...thats the scammer, takes your money and runs :)

its unsafe and they trick u. be careful!

Also if they asked you not to talk to your personnel bank where u used all the times. So you know that is a big fat RED Flag there. I asked the person and was told not to talk to my bank. Yep for sure scammer. I blocked him. I was right all along. :D

I've been receiving heaps of those Nigeria scam emails and others as well in similiar forms.
They need to get a bloody life,

From my understand that these nigeria country and other surrounding countries is one of poorest country in the world. They have nothing to lose if they get caught scamming people. Expect plenty of scammer from 3rd world countries. They are too starved to abide the law. All we can do is don't believe anything that is too good to be true. Then educate your friends to keep their eyes wide open for big fat red flag.

awe man.. got a IM from her and kind of had a good time chatting with her.
