Curious.. I have cat, they are brother and sister..

I have a question... My Female cat is preg but she is preg by her own brother...

i need your option.. I know myself.. human is wayyy different than animal..

Will the kitten died after the born? Or just natural?

My little rose is pregant... wondering if she will be okay with pregant which it's her own brother's babies?

Well, incest is pretty common when it come to animals. In fact, many fathers would impregnate their own daughters, and the same goes for sons being able to impregnate their mothers.

I'll tell you to not worry about anything right now. Just make sure that the kittens are healthy once they are born.

It is quite common for the animals.

I know a Pedigree German Pointer bitch was pregnant by her Pedigree German Pointer Father!!

Those litters were sold much below than average price for pedigree because they are in-breeding, and no pedigree paper to come with. Despite it, I can't tell the different, they look cute and lovely whilst they were puppies.

I don't know if their problem will come up like bad spine or hip dipslence (sp?) later because of in-breeding problem.

there is a higher chance those kittens will have problems as both parents have the same traits and theres a high chance both recessive genes , which are "bad" traits, would be present in the animals. - but its also quite common as it happens all of the time in the animal kingdom in the wild:

and here is my normal lecture:

get your cats fixed.

Actually, animals have it differently from us... especially cats. It's very common for inbreeding with cats.

yes its very common but theres a higher chance a recessive gene will show up as the gene pool thins out :)

yeah it is better to have cats fixed. to avoid more inbreedings and overpopulation out there.

I know how you feel, I find it really strange, because hamsters do the same thing, they do their brothers/sisters even their mother or father. It is kinda werid but nothing bad happen to the babies of the hamsters, My sister has so much hamsters cuz they kept on having sex with each others. I think the kittens would be all right. I hope so ;)

Yeah, with cats, dogs, etc is normal but but but for the breeder is a different.

Example about cow's, rabbit's, sheep's, pig's, meats where you have for your dinner is also different.
It should not mixed with "siblings"/"parents" with relatives where the animal relate to because the meat's taste is not good.

Example about rabbit because my friend, I know who breed and kill rabbits for meat. All what he do is buy 2 or 4 rabbits where they doesnt relate each other. Its work hard to separate them in different cages. He get rabbit from other cage to give female rabbits babies. When the babies with their mothers are over then he has to put babies to other cages.... separate that they should not relate each other because of meat taste. Interesting.

If you want to buy expensive cat and become breeder and sell kittens for the money then you are not allow to mix "siblings" with "parents". You will lose profit if you do.

 yep, even mating their mother when they're only a couple weeks old...then a few weeks later, the mother is pregnant again and again.... ...

Anyone wants hamsters?...heh heh

Don't worry sweet Cooliefroggie, your kittens will be fine! ;)
