Reasons why Alldeaf bans religious

I'm amazing that religious have been flame war and yet, closet don't? I find is odd. That mean, few are willing fight to give right-on about religious than closet. hmmm... I'm soooooo CONFUSE

At first I thought it was 1 million members too but then I realized million member would be huge for a web forum. Even 21.000 is a really good number , many forums do not come close to tens of thousands of people.

By the way, why dont you make a sticky in religion sub section saying it is temporary closed? I didnt realize before seeing these posts in other places that it wasnt just me but the whole section was closed. It might be more helpful.
 
I think it's 21K members in name only; I doubt there's more than 100 regularly participating....
 
I don't think a thread should be closed due to religious comment or other offending comments. Instead, the mods should remove the offending comments rather than close the thread.
 
Religion, as said before, just is cause of a lot of deep emotions. Thats just how it is and always will be. I was thinking to myself (thats what PM is for, to discuss stuff like this) but further thought why would I PM anyone about a religion belief or topic unless I likely read it in a thread and it had stimulated a thought. I feel religion plays a tremendous role in many of our lives, but I do agree that the benefits outweigh the possible outcomes of keeping religious discussion forum closed. Something like religion can bury or destroy a lot of the "common ground" we are all here for and friends for.

Exactly but we cannot do anything due to our alldeaf god, Alex says so.
 
We wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for disorder and chaos. Don't forget that.


You (mod's edit - removing a word) are right about being too attached with religion can actually affect their emotions when it's doesn't mean anything.

Offending is a way to help other understand that they can look at it the other way and describe as if it was a fiction book. But remember, fiction.

Anyways, I am a mod of several forums and when I realized that religion is forbid on alldeaf, I am starting to see that things are much more thrill. But no thrill cause the thread is closed. You see, if that thread is opened, you'd probably get another 20,000, hahaha. It's possible that half of them are muslim, mormon, and jevoah witness. Possibly scammers.

So, it's actually smart to close the thread than having another 20,000 coming on forum offending whatever is opposite of their culture.

I think it depends. If a big partion of thread is out of control then closing the subject is better than trying to weed out all the offensive posts. But if there is only few comments offending compared to entire thread , then closing the thread sounds unfair.

We could remove the offending comments rather than closing the threads but as you know, we are not on AllDeaf 24/7. The problem is, when it comes to any kind of religion discussion, some of the members are not able to take it with a grain or to discuss it civilized. That results into posts which are slashed across, belittling, enticing, provoking and talking smack to each other.

I could say the same thing about the War & Political News Forum and Hearing Aid & Cochlear Forum but the difference is, The religion section is always heavily favored with emotional aspects because they get to the point where they overlap their religion perspective rather than dividing the thoughts or to weight the pros/cons of this or that.

While I realize that religion issues has a great significant information and I admit, It's interesting but when it comes to the point where it gets into a rubble, it shows how people can't really take an insight to it.

The thread isn't closed for now because this is an explanation as to why some new members are not aware of what happened. Like you, You wanted to collect some information to have some insight into this.

By the way, Let's please steer on the topic rather than engaging into a flame war.
 
It is really not worth to bring it up here. I had seen some threads in the past.

It was a serious conflict with many issues in it. It is the best to be voided. Let's hope that it will not happen in the future. Again, it is the best to end of the religious discussion.
 
My opinion, learning religions is actually more fun for me. :) I miss to discuss about religions. :(

I can ask a lot of questions if I able to think of more. Sometimes I found some odd and rare religions that I never heard of that, on LiveJournal or some blogs at outside of AllDeaf. It's always amazing how they did make some creative things like a art craft, drawing, and etc etc. I love to read some historal stories, it's not matter if it's myth or not. I don't care. I think it's awesome to read and learn about everything. :):)

That's why religion is my top interest...

I see some posts had to be removed from this thread. Tsk. That's the main reason why the Religion forum remains closed, because some of you have no respect around here. :roll:
 
I remember when the religion forum were going holy war. Now I see religion things popping up in other places. I hope nobody tries to do a holy war all over the forums. They should find other places to do it when the religion form here is closed.
