I dont know how to spell, u know something box hanging on the windowscreen under rear mirror to prevent from cops giving them a ticket for speeding  does it help less pulling by Cops?
I just remember, last another Summer we drove to Disneyland in CA the other car ahead me I noticed that car fast then slow cop driving by how he knew my ex husband to be pointed to look he has that box telling cop is there, oh cool!

Sure, BUT depending on what cops are using and what kind of detector you got. Problem is more and more cops are using trigger fire means they wait til right time then fire the gun to catch your speed reading. By that time cop fires its too late for you, your busted. Some cops uses older model which leaves beam on all the time so your detector can detect that beams. It really depends on several factors. But does it help reduce the chances of getting busted? Like I said, so depends on where you live. I admit I stopped by cops over 50 times in my life and got only 10 tickets. Now that people are driving faster and police are more lenient with speeders so I haven't got stopped since 6 years!

Yea it all depend. Some radar goes off even if the cops are not there. There is a reason for it. Like security alarm of the building can cuz the radar to go off. It happened to me many times but mine got stolen cuz my stupid exh forgot to lock my door of the old truck. Kicking his butt. But now I have not gotten pulled over for over 20 yrs. :D

Also, it is illegal to use radar detectors in some states.

I've never had a detector, and I've never gotten a ticket (I have been driving more than 30 years), so I don't know if they really make a difference. :dunno:

There isn't a device that prevents you from getting a ticket, but a detector lets you know if there's a radar/laser in effect. Sometimes, it doesn't always work... cuz a lot of cops turn their radar/laser at the last minute. I used to have a radar detector in my car years ago. I still got a ticket anyway. The cop was sitting behind a huge tree and was turning on his radar just as cars drove by. Another thing, the detector is only for speeding... not for wreckless driving. So, if you cut someone off or ran a stop sign... a cop will still pull you over anyway (if he was nearby) without the use of his radar/laser. One last thing, there are other devices that use the same laser/radar technology. Know those automatic doors at grocery stores or various retail businesses? Most of those function on radar. If you had a radar detector and drove by those doors, it would go off like crazy.
