You've got a friend - By Carol King

When youre down and troubled
And you need a helping hand
And nothing, whoa nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest nights.

You just call out my name,
And you know whereever I am
Ill come running, oh yeah baby
To see you again.
Winter, spring, summer, or fall,
All you have to do is call
And Ill be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Youve got a friend.

If the sky above you
Should turn dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind should begin to blow
Keep your head together and call my name out loud
And soon I will be knocking upon your door.
You just call out my name and you know where ever I am
Ill come running to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you got to do is call
And Ill be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Hey, aint it good to know that youve got a friend?
People can be so cold.
Theyll hurt you and desert you.
Well theyll take your soul if you let them.
Oh yeah, but dont you let them.

You just call out my name and you know wherever I am
Ill come running to see you again.
Oh babe, dont you know that,
Winter spring summer or fall,
Hey now, all youve got to do is call.
Lord, Ill be there, yes I will.
Youve got a friend.
Youve got a friend.
Aint it good to know youve got a friend.
Aint it good to know youve got a friend.
Youve got a friend.

Good choices, society's child! :)

I *love* the songs that are bolded! (especially "Let Your Love Flow" by the Bellamy Brothers)

By the way, did you know that the original name of the Ozark Mountain Daredevils was "Cosmic Corncob and His Amazing Ozark Mountain Daredevils?" A local radio DJ told me that when I called in to request "Jackie Blue" one night. :giggle:)

As for Fleetwood Mac, I love their "Rumours" album from 1977!

THAT was their original name?? Geez louise, glad they changed it.:laugh2:

Yeah, I believe "Rumours" was one of the best albums of the 70's. It's definitely stood the test of time.

I like most of the ELO's song and some of Chicago's song like 'If You Leave Me Now', 'Saturday In the Park' and 'Hard to Say I'm Sorry'. Oh yes I am a big fan of Fleetwood Mac. I have their 'Rumours' album and play it sometimes. That song 'Let Your Love Flow' I like that too. Some of David Bowie song are ok too. The rest of it, I don't think I have heard them or I may have but not know the name of song. :)

Yes the classic 70's rock are the best! I got a huge collection of the 70's music CDs here. Great memories during the 70's era and it is the BEST! :dance2:

Oh yes I got that one too. Starting out on a record, cassette tape and now CD. Great album! Also I like their Dance '97 tour on youtube which I have kept in my Bookmarks. Here is one of their song, 'Go Your Own Way' and I like the live version of it.

"Go Your Own Way" happens to be my favorite Fleetwood Mac song!

The thing I love about Fleetwood Mac is how their songs bring back memories of my childhood. I was only 6 or 7 at the time "Rumours" was released, but I remember hearing all of their songs being played on the radio over and over again. I used to have "Rumours" on 8-track. (Remember those? :giggle:)

Another *great* album you should check out is Supertramp's "Breakfast in America" which was released in 1979.

I love ELO. One of my favorite songs by them is "Rock and Roll is King." I also like the soundtrack from "Xanadu" which contains several of their songs.

As for Chicago's "If You Leave Me Now," that song (which I love -- I love all kinds of music, can't you tell? :)) brings back memories of when I was 5 or 6 years old. I used to hear that song being played on the radio all the time -- especially during the summer of 1976.

Speaking of 70s music, what do you think of the Bay City Rollers? One of my favorite songs by them is "Saturday Night."
