Another gem article from Davy V. You never cease to amaze us with your sensationalism and fabrications. This may have indeed been a case of police abuse, but your obscure, obtuse, non-factual, opinionated, and hostile way of reporting, is unnecessary. We understand that you are trying to go for the “shock journalism”, but it makes you less credible. It helps if you stick to most of the facts of the matter, without inserting your own narrow-minded opinions. Please let the readers be the judge, instead of using your soapbox to preach your inane logic.

I have no idea what this man did. However, he did something to warrant being subdued. I really doubt the police were just rolling down the street looking for wheelchair bound person to assault. Get real. I fail to see the brutality. The man was resistant. One would think that these scroats would learn to not be resistant. It is pointless. Resistance is also indicator that they are guilty of something. We have had police officers shot by people in wheelchairs that had guns under their legs. What is completely obvious in this video is the voice of the agitator in the background. That’s the real problem. It is people like this that create the most problem between citizens and police. If this were true brutality, it would have been on CNN and the officers would have been reprimanded or fired. That’s my take.

I know that you will be very angry because you paid a lot of taxes to police department.

I like to hear about opinion from airportcop when he returns to this forum.

:laugh2:

Video was not really clear enough. What's if wheelchair got hide knife or gun or something under his legs.

Or wheelchair ignored police's order.

from recent experince most are half witted racist ignorant thugs ...this film do not surprise me...she should not kept saying blackman cos people think she pushing this side of things...should just said disabled human, more middle class america would look and read about it,sad but true

it happens everyday...

Yes , does happen everyday and I see it cops get with it while driving around the city , they do not give any signals, if I did that I would get a ticket. I know there a lot worse abused of power, I had been pulled over just because the cops did not like seeing a White woman driving a car with a Black man and an Italian man in the car too.

The police can tell if someone riding by is Italian?

How do you know they pulled you over for having multi-ethnic passengers? Did you get ticket for that?

It is a biased source but that's not to say their accusation lacks validity. However, I would need more information before making a judgment call on this.

This is something I am trying to figure out and not sure why it is not on public news at all. Something like this should have showing up in the news but Im scratching my head why there is not even one news. I know it is LOCAL, I see RPD, and the location seems to be on Joseph avenue near Rochester Deaf school, few blocks away really.

While it is clearly it tooks place in predominantly non-white community (people in background of video), and at least most of the police officers are white, the question is what did triggers those police officers to aggressively restraint the men in wheelchair by throw him down, shove his wheelchair away, cuff him?

I meant, he is disabled and can't get away really. It is a bit of excessive use of force in my own opinion, but however it begs the question: does the men has hidden weapon?

One thing to remember--we only saw video of police officers arresting him...but we didn' see what happened before that leds to police officers to the scene and take such action.

As for why it isn't on news--news only report what they wanted to report--they may decide it is not important as whatever is hot issue for the day.

Like the others say...it happens often, which is sad.

That area, majority of black people lives there which is true. And this is what I am thinking he can't run why overdo the excessive force?

I agreed not enough information, but still can't locate the news on local news media. Im still not sure why, and it happened 2 days ago.

If this is truly business excessive force, it is going to make Rochester cops look bad.

Guess time will tell.

RPD statement said..

Ever since Rochester, NY Police Chief James Sheppard announced Operation Cool Down last year, saying that his officers would stop citizens if they don’t have a bell on their bikes, I said that all Sheppard was doing, was giving his already rogue, racist officers, a ‘free pass’ to abuse innocent citizens, just like they did to this disabled man.

Next thing you know, RPD Chief Sheppard will say that Benny Warr’s wheelchair didn’t have a bell on it.

What's bell for??

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I'm wondering if there's more to this than what the bystanders are seeing. Sometimes, bystanders have personal bias and make biased comments/remarks towards what they're seeing.

What puzzles me is that none of them is in local news at all. Something does not add up here. Incidents like this could have easily trigger local news reporting. So far, it is so quiet :hmm:

I agree with Reba or at least hope she is right, there has to be more to why they were so forceful at least I hope there is. If they are out of control then where do we turn for help.
