Have you heard about ex-Muslims are apostasy?
Sure. Why do you think I brought up apostasy? It was to your question on what ex-Muslims are.

Pay close attention. To the best of anyone's knowledge, has Fred Phelps preached and/or encourage any other person to travel anywhere and destory and/or kill people? Even the Okla. City bombing was not the result of an "extremist christian." Even the plane crash in Austin, Tx. was not the result of an "extremist christian".
On the other hand, there is plenty of proff that Muslim leaders preach and infulliance and encourage their followers to kill and destory, not only in America but world wide.

Do you prefer to have Christian church over mosque near ground zero in NYC? If yes then why and tell me a difference about between of them?
However, being that they should be fully aware of how that choice of location would be offensive and hurtful to many people, was it a wise move on their part? Is it an action that will foster better understanding of their faith (if that's what they want)? Does this choice of location make them seem conciliatory towards non-Muslim Americans?
You're right. Fred Phelps doesn't resort to killing. A better example would be the extremist Fundies that bomb abortion clinics. Killing cause they're opposed to killing.
(I'd still rather never be associated with Fred Phelps even if I did identify as a Christian.)

LOL. I think few of us would want to be associated with Phelps. :P
Riiiiiiight.
BTW...missed you today in the in-depth discussion we were having. You would have fit right in!
Agreed. I, too, find sharia law quite disturbing in many facets. However, in comparison, there are those Christian groups that support their own version of sharia law in application to the topic of gays and cheating.
I applaud you for wanting to read the Quran and develop your own, informed, and educated opinion. And your willingness to consider the input of other thinkers, despite their particular religious persuasion. There is a reason you have always been one of my favorite posters.![]()
There's no question that he is still an extremist and crosses many lines, even if those lines don't happen to be shooting other people.
Where/what was this discussion about?
Correct.
Yep, saw your posts earlier. That is why I believe that you would have fit right into the discussion in the later pages. Basically, the universal statements that can be applied to any religion and the ways in which people seem to ignore such in their own while applying them only to the other.
I've never gotten aroudn to reading the Quran.. I do have two copies of the Torah. One is full of paintings done by Jacob Lawrence. I should buy the Quran and read it.
Pretty obvious.

Sorry I missed it. Had to go out today. I read through the thread though.
Ohhh...what a prize you have with the artwork! Yes, I think you would find the comparisons very interesting between the Quran, the Torah, and the Bible.
LOL. I think few of us would want to be associated with Phelps. :P
Oh definely. Jacob Lawrence was a Jewish painter. It's interesting to see his take on Moses. He always paint him with horns.
I don't blame you. He's a Democrat.
