On Gallaudet Campus Robbery

1 word - Liberals!

It's really unfair to assume that all liberals are for gun control. I support both limited gun control and gun rights. Gun control should not be overly restrictive but there should be better background checks, etc.

but..... it's true. most liberal states put a high restriction on guns.... to the point where it's nearly impossible to own or use it. It's oxymoronic - "You can own it but you can't defend yourself with it... even if your life is in dire danger." You are liable to robber-then-victim's lawsuit for injury on your property. if he died on your property - you may be liable to manslaughter or murder. now that's a very unfriendly-gun state... which is sadly a state I live in - NJ.

You are missing the point. Criminals don't use legal means to obtain guns. Gun restrictions don't stop criminals from obtaining guns through illegal means. Nor does lifting the restrictions create a situation of less crime.

If you want a society in which you feel safe, then social issues need to be adressed that are creating situations that increase crime. Gun restriction or lack of gun restriction is not an answer to criminal activity.

lack of gun restriction shows a progress and protection for us. gun restriction shows more crimes. we don't care about these unfortunate people - just our life and safety. that's why we elect politicians to figure out these problems.

I agreed that Gallaudet campus is surrounded ghetto.

A couple of years ago, I walked with my friends off the campus on the street from the Gally. We saw a black man was happy and sang himself looking thru a woman's purse. We passed him without looking at him. Then, he threw the purse in the trash and walked off. Sight!

That ghetto should be destroyed and re-develop a better environment place. Congressmen are supposed to pay to make the place safe because they work at the capital right there. They are a millionaire or maybe billionaire. Now, they don't care about the ghetto.

if that were to happen i wouldnt shed a tear, thats for sure.

Remember, crime in UK is much lower than US since UK has tighten gun restriction, such as gun banned in anywhere.

It's depends on society, not all gun restriction cause crime goes up.

violent crimes such as assaults are up though - fist and knife. You're thinking of murders. and plus - UK doesn't have the population with wide range of diversity of USA so that's not fair to compare USA to a country that's as big as USA's penis (Florida) :laugh2:

I was at Cabela store a few times. A lot of people still are buying variety of guns. I would say 30 people on a holiday. No one stops them to buy the guns and even the Gov't won't stop them.

I believe that it is impossible to eliminate their guns if it is a Federal ban gun. It will be always guns out there in hiding places everyday. We do need guns because you never know that some cops are bad out there. You know some bad cops are selling drugs for extra money, and even worse that they get excited to abuse innocent people. My former boss was a cop for 30 years, and he is retired. He told me that he loved to abuse them because he had AA problems.

I guess that the cops won't arrest them in off campus in D.C. because some cops like to search and buy illegal things in the ghettos.

Then we need to start electing politicians that actually address the solution, instead of creating the problems in the first place. Again, you are missing the point. Gun restriction or non-restriction is not the problem. It is a symptom of a greater problem. What you propose addresses the symptom, but does nothing to address the issues that create the symptom. Its like taking an aspirin for a headache caused by a tumor. You might get rid of the pain for an hour or two, but you still have the tumopr, and the headache will come back.

i believe in the right to gun ownership. If some fool is breaking into my house armed with a .357 magnum id like to know its ok i can defend my castle legally without my pants down around my ankles, get my drift?

Lets face it, you can ban guns, you can get tough on that kind of thing with restrictions and petty laws, but the cold facts are that they'll always be available and people who have no reason to have 'em will just find ways to have 'em. So fuck it, if they're gonna do that i oughta to have the same right--legally.

because Assault Weapon Ban aka Clinton Weapon Ban is not renewed under Bush Administration. They're buying them before time's up (Obama will renew it). and why would anyone stop them? It's legal to buy it.

They also have access to more comprehensive social programs that reduces the need to commit crime.

no it is pretty simple. It's called options. We want options available to us. We don't care about symptoms, problems, etc. we're not politicians and things are not going to change overnight. we're just regular people who make a living and come home.

I'll leave it to politicians to deal with the problems but meanwhile.... there are problems around us, we want options available to us to protect us from the problems. Get it? SES, education policy, etc. etc.... those mumba jumba don't concern us at all.... which is sad but it's true. We're doing fine and some are not doing fine and well... sorry pal - not my problem. but it becomes my problem if they decided to rob me.

...... at heavy heavy cost of taxpayers..... which we don't want in here.

UK is actually quite diverse. Just not as stratified.

And, under proper leadership, the problems with society are reduced. Obviously, you do care about the symptoms, as the symptoms are the topic of your posting.

And if you think the issues don't concern us as individuals, you are extremely naive and restricted in your thinking.

Then you will continue to see the very problems that you complain about. And gun restriction is not the problem, nor is relaxing of gun restrictions the solution. Look a little deeper to the cause, jiro.

What's PPD means?

Physical Plant Dept (no longer use that words) today we call Facilities Dept but we still called them PPD

abt earn $$$, I am working SRA and earn 12 dollars an hour...

gun issue is just for us to have an option to deal with on-going problems, not a solution to problems.
