Opheliaaaaaaaa ahhhhh... a torturer....

Are we gonna have more hurricanes this year, November is 2 months away.

I would hardly call Ophelia a torturer. She came ashore on the coast of NC as a category 1 hurricane. Hardly what we saw with Katrina.

As for the possibly of more hurricanes this year, I would say that it's possible we'll see more storms before the end of season.

there arent hurricanes brewing in the tropics are there?

Not yet, but there is a tropical wave that will impact my area this weekend. It's supposed to be rainy here this weekend.

oh oh, Ophelia is heading toward New England.
Do New England ever had any hurricane or tropical storm?

Why would a hurricane or tropical storm be way up there?

The winds push it in a certain direction. It's weakening as it moves over cooler waters. The coastline is going to be messy, but I wouldn't worry too much about this.

that thing went up to 65 mph

Relax, Miss P. Nothing bad is going to happen. Its moving over cooler waters. It will eventually lose it's tropical characteristics, and take on that of a regular low pressure system. It will probably be Europe's problem in a week or so.

1938 was a huge awful hurricane that hit New York and New England. I have a book that was published about it.

"September 21, 1938: A devastating hurricane drives through the northeastern United States. Residents are unprepared for the storm and the flooding it brings. Over 600 people are killed, most by drowning. Another hundred are never found. Property damage is estimated at $300 million -- over 8,000 homes are destroyed, 6,000 boats wrecked or damaged."

Hurricanes do hit the northeast coast.

yeah tropical storm Katrina knocked over some trees here in Memphis
and thousands had no electricity... we had a foot of flood somewhere
in Memphis.
my puppy Britney wouldn't use the restroom outside because
the wind and rain scare her.
But oh well I didn't punish her for having a little poop accident
on the carpet though, I understand and she knows I do understand.

And we had some rain and a little wind from Hurricane Ophelia...
We felt that effect. it knocked out our light for a minute.

Ugh more hurricanes and tropical storms.

Please pray for people who are now in the path of hurricane Rita, especially on the Florida Keys.

okay Reba, I pray all the time, even for Massachuetts last week, cause
I have some family members living there.

Seem like prayers are answered, I'll pray for people in Florida as well.
