No, my other Yellow Lab JoJo, I gave her to my best friend who lost her daughter at birth, she was really upset and really depressed. She been coming over my place and she fell in love with JoJo, and wanted her badly, so I gave her to her. She lives in big farm, and I figure JoJo would like that.

Now I have 2, Copper the red dog and Frankie.

Still look at a few pictures of your dog over over again. I think I am in love with your Frankie Pup. Sigh .. Nice of you to give JoJo to your dear friend who has lost her newborn daughter. Smile ... Will get a dog in the near future. Two cats is enough for my apartment.

UPDATE!!!

Frankie got her updates shots - DPHH shots, Kennel coughs and booster shots. He already got his rabies shot when I adopted in July. He weighed at 62lbs and he is 11 months old... Doctor said he will be around 80lbs full grown.. Had him took another hearing test.. He is profound deaf at 60%, which mean, he can hear by loud noise like door slam, dog bark closely and loud roars of motorcycles and hot wheels.. Like walking softly, or conversation, etc, he is not able to hear those, only the loud one. Wow!!
As for house training for deaf dog, it took me 3 months to break his potty train. I rubbed his nose on "pee-pee" spots and then take him outside on leash for 30 minutes, he picked up really well, and for poops, I spank his butt with newspaper and tell him NO NO and point at his poop and say NO NO to him. And put him outside on leash (sort like a time out). He will get it.. His tail would go under and he know what he is not suppose to do.. He is smart... NOW he is FULL trained! WHOO HOO!!As you know he is mixed Golden Retriver and Yellow Lab. He is VERY gentle with us, and he LOVES to pick on my 4 years old son, he would grab his ankles and playful around him. At night, he sleep under my son's bunk bed. He is very gentle and so loving, and he is FULL of ENERGY.

Here is my dog, taken today!! 11 months old at 62lbs!

Cute dog. You are so lucky to have a wonderful dog. Yea I can understand it take a while to train a deaf dog to go outside to do his buisness.

Oh so Cute! I love that blue eye! :):)

Me too Proud of own Hard of hearing dog Henry too;)

Cute pup! My last dog, a Siberian/lab cross looked like a black Siberian - Nome had one blue eye and one brown eye. Sweet dog.

The blue eye and deafness may be genetic. There is a syndrome - Warrensburg or something like that - in ferrets. The ferrets have white faces or blaze faces and tend to be deaf. Also, the same problem with blue-eyed white cats tend to be deaf. Same with blue-eyed Dalamations.

Have fun with Frankie - maybe train him to respond to blinking lights. There is a deaf dog yahoo group you may want to join for more training information.

Have fun and good luck!

housebreaking - use a CRATE. There are many Web sites on crate training. It is literally a life-saving way to train dogs.

I had to brag this with you all!!!

I am a BIG DOG lover, and always will be!

I recently adopted a new pup, Frankie, on July 22, 2006. He was victim of Star Ridge Farm, the farm filled with 20 dead horses, 30 dead dogs and cats, and he was on his death row of being starved... That place was a animals mill where people drop their unwanted animals and place them to kill them. It was awful... Rescues from Animal Friends came and took ALL the alive animals and treated them in local vet for follow up. Frankie was a lucky pup, and he was so abused, skinny and starved. Spend in hospital for 3 months on treatments to get him back to his self.

When we walked to the Pet Store, and saw all the puppies in cage, and this caught my eye, and asked the lady that I want to take a look at him, and when Frankie got out, and he just ran and jumped on Kyler (my son) and licked his face, to me, he was trying to tell Kyler "Hey Boy, please take me, I'll be good buddy". His personalities were full of energy and full of happy and so smart. We adopted him and brought him home. We fell in love with him, and he is soooo good.. He is 7 months old, and he is DEAF!!!

I been working with him some sign languages like potty, water, play and quiet. He is doing really good. He is really good with my 4 years old son. He is going to be BIG dog, he is Yellow Lab/Golden Retriever mixed. Right now he's very much warming up with us, at first we got him, he was scared. After spending a lot of time with him and he just love us!! We kind of spoil him with a lot of TLC, and a lot of treats (bones) and taking him out for walk daily.

We had to stomp our feet or bang the wall to get his attention, sort like a vibration.

Here are the pictures of Frankie... YEP he got BLUE eye and BROWN eye! I have always want a blue eye dog, and this time I got him...

I LOVE big dogs!!!

This is my favorite.. I had to tied him up in back porch, cause I was afraid that he would go across the road which he can't hear the incoming cars or trucks. We don't have fence around, but working on some rules for him to understand what and where he can't go and trying to figure out how to get him to stay in the yard instead of going across the road.

My job with potty training with him is almost paid off, he did really good in potty training, he know when he has to go outside, he would bark at the door, or stand by the door with his tail wagging. Smart...

He has his favorite old squeaky teddy bear which he had when he was in hopsital for treatment, he brought his teddy bear when I brought, and he still sleep with it, and protects his bear. I have the picture of him with his bear, it was sooo cute!!

I felt good when I saw this puppy and I just fell in love, *snap*, just like that. I promised to the caregiver who took care of Frankie, that I will take a good care of him, and we will always treat Frankie as the same as I treat Copper, my other dog. He will be a good family dog.

Wow what a cute pup... i am animal lover.. i am glad you rescued your pup...

I am NOT buying 150 bucks for that Extra Large crate... With the finanical problem, why not use the 5 dollars 40 yard leash... And beside, I don't need crate.. He is FINALLY done with house training... He can sleep anywhere..
