I had to brag this with you all!!!
I am a BIG DOG lover, and always will be!
I recently adopted a new pup, Frankie, on July 22, 2006. He was victim of Star Ridge Farm, the farm filled with 20 dead horses, 30 dead dogs and cats, and he was on his death row of being starved... That place was a animals mill where people drop their unwanted animals and place them to kill them. It was awful... Rescues from Animal Friends came and took ALL the alive animals and treated them in local vet for follow up. Frankie was a lucky pup, and he was so abused, skinny and starved. Spend in hospital for 3 months on treatments to get him back to his self.
When we walked to the Pet Store, and saw all the puppies in cage, and this caught my eye, and asked the lady that I want to take a look at him, and when Frankie got out, and he just ran and jumped on Kyler (my son) and licked his face, to me, he was trying to tell Kyler "Hey Boy, please take me, I'll be good buddy". His personalities were full of energy and full of happy and so smart. We adopted him and brought him home. We fell in love with him, and he is soooo good.. He is 7 months old, and he is DEAF!!!
I been working with him some sign languages like potty, water, play and quiet. He is doing really good. He is really good with my 4 years old son. He is going to be BIG dog, he is Yellow Lab/Golden Retriever mixed. Right now he's very much warming up with us, at first we got him, he was scared. After spending a lot of time with him and he just love us!! We kind of spoil him with a lot of TLC, and a lot of treats (bones) and taking him out for walk daily.
We had to stomp our feet or bang the wall to get his attention, sort like a vibration.
Here are the pictures of Frankie... YEP he got BLUE eye and BROWN eye! I have always want a blue eye dog, and this time I got him...
I LOVE big dogs!!!
This is my favorite.. I had to tied him up in back porch, cause I was afraid that he would go across the road which he can't hear the incoming cars or trucks. We don't have fence around, but working on some rules for him to understand what and where he can't go and trying to figure out how to get him to stay in the yard instead of going across the road.
My job with potty training with him is almost paid off, he did really good in potty training, he know when he has to go outside, he would bark at the door, or stand by the door with his tail wagging. Smart...
He has his favorite old squeaky teddy bear which he had when he was in hopsital for treatment, he brought his teddy bear when I brought, and he still sleep with it, and protects his bear. I have the picture of him with his bear, it was sooo cute!!
I felt good when I saw this puppy and I just fell in love, *snap*, just like that. I promised to the caregiver who took care of Frankie, that I will take a good care of him, and we will always treat Frankie as the same as I treat Copper, my other dog. He will be a good family dog.
