My Thanksgiving Trip?

Okay... here's what I did for the week of Thanksgiving:

I left home... got stuck in heavy traffic for almost 2 hours because someone dropped a bunch of nails... drove through Miami... stayed in Earth City... went up 630 ft... drove through Miami again... then came back home.

Can anyone translate my trip?

Guess some gal with an extremely high rate of anixety was running from car to car on the freeway...clipping nails for free, thus, holding up traffic until she was sedated and taken from the traffic snarl. The palm trees, the neon lights of Miami didn't make you stay...thus, drove through it. Earth City possibly being West Palm Beach--hmm...having a grand time getting toesies digging and wiggling in the sand, binoculars strapped around your neck...searching and finding that 'special' beach gal and having dinner at a White Castle...thus, floatin' on a cloud, quite literally 630' high up thinking para-sailing is the same as floating on a cloud...coming back down when the realization of an one night stand was the only thing happening for a vampire--shucks, dude then drove back home.

Anyhow, whatever you actually did, hope you had a grand time!

got stuck in heavy traffic for almost 2 hours because someone dropped a bunch of nails...

Someone spilled spiked nails all over the highway covering 150 yards.

Before you say, "You could have taken the off-ramp and gone another way." There was nothing else we could do. The sideroads are forced onto the highway and that was what was where the nail spill was. Nowhere to go for miles.

This was Miami, Oklahoma.

stayed in Earth City...

This is an actual city in Missouri near St. Louis. I stayed at a hotel there.

went up 630 ft...

Yep, I went up the Gateway Arch of St. Louis. It's 630 ft high.

drove through Miami again...

Again, this is in Oklahoma.

then came back home.

My first inital thought was Earth City, Mo., but what threw me off was the 'Miami' bit....why youuuuuuuuuuu *pbbffttttt!* (also to the fact that West Palm Beach is also literally called: Earth City)

Sounds like fun, well except for the being stuck on the highway part.

Yeah.

I started out with my family. We were driving in two cars. A few minutes out, traffic slowed down to a stand-still.

The longest I didn't move was over 5 minutes. The longest it took me to move a few feet was 15 minutes. *groans*

We could see people driving off the highway to take the side roads. Unfortunately, that wouldn't work since the side roads end a couple miles ahead... where the nails were spilled. So, there's no way out but to go back the other direction.
