My project

Thats normal. Because the lights run off the stator there is no power until the motor is turning and they will be dim until the rpms get up there. You can wire your leds directly off the battery just be sure to put an inline fuse on the positive side. If you add a lot of lights you might want to upgrade your battery and let the tractor run for a bit with the lights off before you shut it down or put it on a charger.

If you do that i recomend getting a guage so you know what your battery charge is before you shut it down. Your ignition runs off the magneto so it shouldn't affect preformance but it might not start next time.

LEDs wont draw enough to drain the battery not just for headlights and tails. Now maybe the blue undercarriage lights? lol

What type of cement did you use? Too much water will cause that, it should be like oatmeal or thicker when mixed not watery.

Oh, and post em up !!!!

Portland pre mixed. To much water will make it weaker but l've had cement set up under standing water. It's a chemical cure. I've never had it happen before but i've been told if moisture gets to the bags the chemical reaction occures and you get duds. :hmm: guess i'll have to get some bags somewhere else

 you'll probably be safe, i just mention it cause some guys think they're helping aircraft land or something.

I will :D i did't know there where guys on here into that sort of thing or i would have posted picks before!

I just got my ag style tires on it and a 3 point hitch i made. I'm ordering parts to add hydraulics to it for a snow blower and maybe a small bucket loader. Do i need to mention my wife thinks i have a problem :laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:

I love making projects out of things, just creative.
I have an ammeter guage off another tractor I will install later, just a single wire from the ignition wraps around the back side and it gives a reading of the charge while running.
I even saved some sheet metal from cutting out the template for the hood, going to make an air dam and maybe a rear spoiler, ir some wheel fenders? lmao we shall see

I love it when people make cool stuff out of old stuff especialy if its got a motor! Keep it up :D

Those pics looks cool! :)

squirrel addicted to fumes,i kid you not so careful they will keep doing it

If you still have the internal tank that you removed the shin from - you can use it for a MEN's heater to burn used oil. (mother earth news) or lawn roller.

I was going to make a smoker, but it didn't look big enough so left it to the scrap guy.

Must be an escaped Meth-Lab rat from around here somewhere....lmao

most people put nuts out....where i worked years back wild rabbit got the smell of the petrol and spent many a happy hour in car park biting in petrol caps and exhaust pipes

I like your hood better but i had to laugh when i saw someone selling a silver craftsman II hood that looks like it goes to your mower today. How random. :dizzy:

Yeah, I found one on CL for $40 but would cost me $50 in gas to go get it...not worth it..
Now if its free, shipped to my door, Ill take it...lol

Who knows, it may have been the one off of mine...lmao

I was picking up lights for my tractor yesterday and thinking about the wiring. If you do have the dual circuit alternator the DC side only has like 3 amps so you might want to wire them off the AC side. I looked at the voltage on the AC side and it's only 14V so it shouldn't fry (right away anyway) any LED just might flicker a bit as you're only using ~1/2 the wave.

It would be good practice to add a resister to bring the voltage down to what the LED can handle and a diode to handle the AC voltage though as the LED is doing double duty as it is also serving as a rectifier blocking the reverse polarity that is not used without it.
