My New Puppy

Last night, I got a new puppy from my sister. My sister is the owner of two adult dogs; the female dog had a litter 7 weeks ago. A couple weeks ago, my sister was starting to suspect that one of the puppies may be deaf. The puppy itself has a pair of blue eyes which is a common sign of deafness. My sister decided to bring the puppy to the veterinarian to get her hearing tested. The doctor has confirmed that there is a hearing loss, though the details were unspecified.

The puppy is a cross-breed of german shepherd and yellow labrador retriever. Both of the parents are the same breed as the puppy. I happen to own a yellow labrador retriever named Mugs. She's still anxious from having the puppy, but she'll get used to it since we already have 3 cats living here and a cockatiel too. It's becoming a zoo here.

The name I have given my puppy is Sky due to the pair of blue eyes she has. I have a photo of her which you can view in my photos section at MSN Spaces and it's attached to this post too. The text, clouds and background was created using Photoshop 7.

Wow, your new puppy are sooooo cute and have beautiful eyes. "Sky" is the suitable name her because of her blue eyes. :)

Yes, it´s similar as cat. When you see the short hair white cat with blue eyes is also sign of deafness, too.

It's nice to have a puppy who has a hearing lost, because it makes the puppy feel more special, even thro it would be nice to know you're not alone....

I would want a pet like that myself, would be really interesting!

EDIT: Do you have any photos of your cats since I haven't seen a picture of them yet but did saw a picture of your lab dog....

Awwww That is one adorable puppy right there Banjo. Grrr I'm jealous! I want that puppy.

cool pup! Are those eyes really that blue or is it the added effect? I never seen a deep blue like those, its a first for me :)

awwwwwwwwwww soo cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i always wanna a deaf dog for my own... but i rather hearing dog so help me cuz of i am deaf.. :)

I almost adopted deaf puppy.. mixed Dalmatian and sheltie.. have blue eyes.. but landlord said no pets allowed.. :( but i am glad that older deaf couple adopted him..

Heh Cute dog and thats a really good name. Im curious how is like to have a deaf dog? How do you get it attention? Never had a deaf dog before.
