Flu is caused by a virus, and it doesn't matter if it's cold or warm out. A person can get the flu if it's 80 degrees out or 35 degrees. All is takes is someone harboring the virus to spread it from one person to another.

Virus Is Everywhere!!!!! Wash Your Hands Everytime Whatver U Are Doing!! It Will Help Preventing The Virus But It"s Impossible To Rid The Virus!!! So Don"t Ask Me How We Get Virus Like I Said... Virus Is Everywhere In The World...

Oceangurl and Froggie are right -- the flu virus is everywhere regardless of what temp an area is having

I can explain how viruses happen, but in order to do that, I'd have to go back to 10th grade biology, and who remembers 10th grade biology??? NOT I!!

I would also like to add something to your comment, though, Froggie. You are correct about the handwashing. Also, anyone who's been exposed to colds and the flu virus should use Lysol as a means to disinfect surfaces like telephones and computer keyboards. (maybe, also TTYs for those who use those??). Basically, you want to keep your environment as germ free as possible.

Hope this helps.

I end up having a flu once when it was only 80 degree outside, at first I thought it might be something I ate, but the doctor told me I had the virus...

Well, washing hands are not the only thing to prevent from getting illness. You could get illness, and they quickly spread it to friends, family and coworkers. My dad was sick in Florida and he gave it to me now I end up with the same common illness that he has that I have now. Like if a child comes home from school picked up a virus from someone at school the child is more likely will pass it along within his family members also. So it is highly contagious. So there are other ways to avoid getting illness is to avoid crowds, don't use common drinking cups from someone who is illness or the same towels and etc. It's important to get plenty of rest and sleep that way the cold would heal up faster than making you feel lousy inside. ;)

Since you mentioned about handwashin'... how do you handle the germs/virus when it comes to the carts while shoppin' ? Alot of people don't wash their hands when they use the carts to shoppin'.

I always wash my hands after the bathroom, before cuttin' up veggies/meats and etc., etc. I don't get sick for 4 years, except hay fever ( sneezin' ) due to spring in every year. I am allergic to pollens - only takes me about 2 days to feel better afterwards.

Like what Cheri and Cyberred mentioned in their posts over "washing the hand, etc to protect germs, virus, etc are logically true.

Accord German law, that the children up to 18 years old MUST have Hepatitis B vaccaine because of their "senseless". You know what the children are, that's why Healthy insurance cover Hepatities B vaccines costs.

It's not only virus and germ but different things to protect against Hepatitis B.

It's very important to check this link: It explains EVERYTHING, not only just virus and flu but EVERYTHING.

Hepatitis B
http://translate.google.com/transla...epb.org/&prev=/search?q=Hepatitis+B&hl=de&lr=

Public Healthy Insurance cover the cost for children to have Hepatitis B shot every 2 years to 18 years old.
And also people who work for hospitails, selling the foods, butchers, teeth makers, dentist, snack sellers, etc.

Cheri & Angel, Did you got Hepatitis B or A shot? Because I know you work for your father to sell the ribs etc. It's very important to protect your healthy with those shots.

Public Healthy Insurance wont cover the cost for me because I work in the office. I know how to take care myself is wash the hand after finish with my business, or prepare the foods to cook/bake but for sale the foods, meats, etc, hospitails, nurse, doctors, dentist, etc. in the public is a different.

That's why my children dont have virus thru school.

No, I don't need it because I don't usual get sick as much as my twin sister does. Sorry toostie. :ily: Only If I am around someone who is illness and cough or sneeze it goes in the air and I can easy caught it. But, I am not worried about myself I am more concern about my boys because they are young and I don't like to see them sick they don't barley get sick much either. ;)

I am surprised that you do not have Hepatitis A shot as a food handler. Although the CDC has not called for mandatory federal vaccination of food service workers, it has repeatedly pointed out that the consumption of worker-contaminated food is a major cause of food borne illness in the United States.

Routine vaccination of food handlers is being used as a strategy to prevent foodborne hepatitis A. Mandatory vaccination of food handlers for hepatitis A is required by local regulations in certain areas of the United States but not on a wide scale basis. Alaska, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Tennessee currently have regions or counties where vaccination is required for food service workers. Such regulations include mandating proof of vaccination for food handlers or offering tax credits to food service operators who provide the vaccine to their employees.

I have been a food service worker since I was 14 and nobody even said it was requirement to have Hepatitis A shot. Sorry! If they said it was requirement I would have took one but, never was told to. ;)

Yes, I am wondering the same.

I would like to remind you about Hepatitis B because it's also important for food handlers, hospitail, doctors, nurse, dentist, resturant etc where they use them to deal/treat patients or customers like what I mentioned at my earlier post with link.

Yes, the people from Health Department come to check their shot pass. They will require them to have shot if they dont have one nor they lock their business until they got shot.

I remember it was happened to butcher in the area where I live. Health Department locked his business because he and his employees dont have shot, that's how it got customers ill with Hepatitis A or B (I cant remember which one). Those scandal spread out in the local newspaper saying that the butcher and his wife went to Teneriffe with no Hepatitis A shot for 2 weeks vacation and didnt notice that virus affect his heathly and brought it to Germany and sells the meats/sausages to customers that how it affect customers, too. It's doctors/hospitital's duty to inform Heath Department where the patient's virus come from after test them. The people from Heath Department come to question them what they eat etc until they find the proof and test the butcher then lock their business. All what he did is have to pay the damage what he cause the customers. He is very regret for not have it shot and cover the shot cost for his employees which it's cheap and save than scandal because of "save money" which Hepatitis A/B shot cost is not cheap. one shot cost EUR 300 ($402.75).

yes, $402 is expensive but it's worth and better than scandal to hurt his name and have to pay very high sum where he damage his customers/employees.
