My baby is sick...

My baby, Minka is sick, she has some kind of cold and upper re_____ infection in her chest i assume. I already took her to vet twice now, and will probably have to take her in again tmw cuz she is not eating or drinking, and will need some fluids from vet (i.v) She haven't eating since thurs when, and drink but she got her fluids on friday at vet thru iv and then when we got home she drink a little from bowl then havent drinked since. It makes me sad to see her sick.. she not herself. Poor thing.. Now my family is worry that will spread to other animals, since we have 6 all together, 4 cats and 2 dogs. Sighs our vet bills will be very high this month..
 
aww i am very sowwy to hear abt that.. i hope that ur cat will getting well soon!
 
:hug: I am sorry to hear that. My prayer and thought goes to your cat. I know the feeling about the vet bills. My dog had a emerency vet bill was $225 just to take out the fishing hook off her mouth. OUCH!!!

poor animal. i have heard somewhere around there's health insurance for pets.. is that true?

Do you mean "respiratory"? Minka is having some breathing and swallowing problems?

Kitties only eat if something smells tempting. If Minka can't breathe clearly, she won't want to eat the food. Sometimes it helps to use the most awful stinky canned cat food that you can find. Maybe even heat it up a little to make it stink more. That is more tempting to kitty.

Most important is that she get enough fluids. If she doesn't get enough fluids her kidneys can fail. If the vet suggests an IV for fluids, it is necessary, and should help kitty.

I hope your kitty gets well soon.
 
I remmy my kitten one time had a respiratory problem and took the kitten to the vet. The vet gave me the medication and told me to feed the kitten of chicken or beef baby food. Guess what?? The kitten loves that food and got healthy again. I was shocked when the vet told me about the baby food. Well if it works then it works. :D

DeafScuba98, about vet insurance, yea I have heard it but still have to pay for it and I dont know how much they cover. It doesnt cover whole lot at all. I dont know much about it but I will do my research on that and get back to you.

Update: She is doing a bit better, starting to drink, but still wont eat and not herself yet. She is usually wild and hyper and wants to go outside all the time, but she not back to that part yet (thanks god, dun wanna her go outside) I took her to the vet today for third time, and she said to start feeding her through styrnce (sp?) (needle thingie without the needle) to force her to eat, cuz she wont eat, she hasnt eat since last thurs, so i did today, she was not happy with it but cant do anything about it.. She is on anti bonic and will change a new kind of anti bonic the day after tmw for another 7 days. As long she is drinking again (since yesterday) she should be ok. Hopefully the new kind of anti bionic will help more..

Yes that is the correct spelling. Upper Respiratory infection is what she got..

As pet , you pay your own pocket expense...

As Breeder, Coverage by pet insurance.. *follow their policy* Pretty interesting.. I do coverage for my bulldogs under pet insurance.
Depends health.. espically not coverage expense for c-section due birthing.. *mumbling* Oh well I do have to respect their policies.. By the way, I've enjoy viewing c-section birthings... Pretty mircale beautiful seeing litters.
 
I took her to the vet again today ecause she was not doing well again, and the vet found that she has some fluid in her lungs and may have a heart disease. I will know in 24 hours if she will make it or not. Please pray for my cat, i love her too much to let her go. She is only 2 yrs old..
 
Oh I am so sorry. it is very difficult, it is part of life and be thankful that you had happy memories with your pet. :(
 
I am very sorry for your loss. :( I know Minka was an important part of your life. You were a good care-giver to Minka, and did what you could for her. She is not suffering now. I will pray that you are comforted. :hug:
