Never met him and I had to clean up his mess. It was UNBELIEVEABLE, and should I clean up without being compensation? No, thanks!

Ah. So you knew who the money belonged to yet you kept it anyway? Cool

When I was younger, I found a $10 bill laying around and someone seems to have lost it and I swiped it for keeps. I've ocassionally found few quarters laying around in various places. I also saw a $20 bill left in a rental car that somebody must have left behind.

I found a $20 bill on sidewalk when I went to post office. The irony thing is that I had been fired from work that day. That was the bright thing of the day. Little did I know, I made a lot more easy money from that day forward.

I once found a wallet that had about $200 or more in it and I called the person that lost it. The husband said his wife had just cashed her pay check and was taking the kids to get some ice cream and she lost her wallet and been crying . The guy came to my home and gave a reward, I refused it but he really wanted me to have it as they never thought they would see the money again . He also gave his business card and told me if my husband ever wanted to take a train trip to call him and he will get me a discount.
When I was younger I was at bus stop and some guy dropped a roll of money, he had just cashed his pay check after work and was really tried. He thought he had put his money in his coat pocket put it fell on the sidewalk and I picked it right up before anyone else could and gave it to back to the guy.

The most I've ever found was $100. It was on the floor at Sears when I was a little kid. My dad made me put it in the ashtray in case someone lost it.

The most I've ever found... and kept... was $20. I was a bagger at a grocery store and my boss asked me to clean the bushes that was collecting trash. (The bushes were planted in a pattern where it intercepted a lot of trash due to wind blowing mainly in that direction.) While cleaning the bushes, I found a $20 bill tangled in there. :)

The most I've ever found... and kept... and wasn't cash... was a scratch lotto. Someone threw away a bunch of scratch lotto in an ashtray. I found one and it was worth $20. It seems that person thought it was a "get three in a row" thing when it was actually a "get three" thing. It was $20. :)

$10 roll of quarters sitting on a chair in one of the classrooms at Gallaudet before class started. Pocketed it. Can't remember what I spent the money on. Also, found a 1946 silver dime that was under an old piano keyboard, a piano that I was stripping down to the 46 lb pure aluminum plate that holds the piano strings so I could have it recycled and get money out of it. That was about three years ago.
That's cool, My parents bought an old player piano for me when I started taking lessons, My dad and I started stripping and refinishing it, guess at the time someone thought the slots for the controls were for coins/tokens and put money in them. Found a couple buffalo nickles, and other silvers, one gold coin from 1800 and a $5 gold note behind the sound board , may have come out of an old saloon?

We have Kmart... they bought into Craftman... so I got a funny feeling Craftman is gonna turn into Skill products soon...lol

K-Mart is turning into a great place for me to train Deacon.

Where I work, its not unheard of to find money though if it was over a certain threshold I usually turned it in. If no one came back for it, it was usually given back to me. I've found 20$ a couple times. And while it's not "found" money, I did have a woman insist on tipping me $50 a few years ago.

I once found a green $25 casino blackjack chip (while there, of course.) No way to know who dropped it, it was just on the floor so I picked it up and cashed it in.

Since im a delivery driver its very common to find $1, $5, $20, $50, $100 on the road or sidewalk.. and. I've found 4 purses, 3 wallets 6 cell phones and returned them. I've even found 2 expensive looking dogs and look at tag and return dog to owner Each time reward is 200-500. Fun fun on the rroad :)

I found forty dollars at a thrift store. Cashier wanted the money. I told her it will be at the police station, where I turned it in.
I propose to the woman who found the hundred... That was your money. A convenient way for someone to tip housekeeping.

The most that I kept was a $20 bill. I've also found $5, $10, and a few $1 bills.

I did find a much larger sum (total of 4 lost purses over the last few years) but I turned it all to guest desk at the store for them to track down owner.

Aside from an occasional buck, I wouldn't think it was found money, but earned money! While meeting a friend at a lounge bar, a gentleman approached me and offered to pay me $50 if I said "Hello Darlin'" to him in front of his pals. So I agreed, provocatively walked to their table, and in my Southern charm said it. Poor guy nearly had a heart attack! :giggle:
