Um, I've found extra $$ in my checking account on pay days (years ago). I would go to the bank and report it because whose ever paycheck got deposited into my account would certainly be missing it. Hopefully, by my reporting it, it made it easier for the bank to "find" it when the other person reported it "missing" from their account.

Oh yeah! That is different! Once I was at the bank and I withdrew $200 and I got 300 I went back and said they gave me an extra 100 and the lady looked at me and said: "We don't make mistakes like that" uhhh, ok? LOL I did what i had to and told you so whatever! lol

I usually count change, bank w/d's, etc as it's being counted out so that I don't get shortchanged or get more than what I'm supposed to get. Of course, I don't always calculate accurately either.

I've never found money more than a quarter that belonged to someone I did not know. I did lose some money though but I can't say for sure what exactly happened to it.

But frequently, when I do a load of laundry that includes jeans from my dad, I find a few bucks in change. I used to steal a few quarters every time and buy candy from the dollar store once in a while. Actually, I still collect the quarters for laundry.... (thanks Dad!)

When I was 12, my brother and I found three 100$ bills in a parking lot of a seedy convenience store one time. We notified the police that we had found the money, and they wanted us to turn it in. Yeah right. So they could keep it for themselves? Ridiculous. We gave them our contact information and said if anyone came to the PD asking for the money, they could contact us with the location it was lost. We also asked the store clerk if anyone had reported losing money at the store and they said no. We held onto the money for a month and after no contact from PD, I used my share to buy a Gameboy. I can't remember what my brother spent his share on, and we gave $100 to our mother.

Pretty sure it was drug money.

$20 here and there. Pocket change.

I found almost $200 in a public bathroom on top of the toilet paper dispender when I was a teenager. Of course, I kept it and went shopping for clothes. Bad me!

A $20 dollar bill floating/flying in the air at the Kmart shopping center...grabed it and split!

A girl I was dating found $1600 in a couch at our hotel in the Bahamas.

I played a Golf Course in Savannah and found a $100 bill on the ground by the bag stand. Then I played the same course with my parents a few years later and as I was telling them about the money I found I saw a wallet on the ground in almost the same spot. It had about $300 in it and alot of credit cards. I turned it into the Pro Shop. When we got to the 10th hole that day we skipped a slow group of kids and when we got to the green we found a $20 bill in the hole. When we completed our round and went back to the pro shop we found that the man claimed his wallet and paid for all of our golf (very expensive) which was cool the club credited out cards. Then we ate lunch at the club ...and those slow kids came in and sat with their dads and we overheard the kids saying "We're starving" and the dads responded "we left that $20 so you could eat a snack" but of course they never got it because we played the hole before them. So I went over and returned the $20 and explained what had happened. Those dads ended up paying for our lunch which was about $75. Pretty cool. This is my favorite course needless to say.

People still shop at Kmart?

Sure do....but just read last week that 100 more stores were closing....hope it's not one that is very close to where I live...Walmart is somewhat cheaper...but the crowds!....At Kmart, it's more relaxing to shop.

I hear Sears is closing some 125 stores, too.....

We used to have Kmart here in Canada. Hudson Bay Company bought them out and rebranded them as Zellers. Then as a result, they closed the rest of the Kmart stores that they didn't convert to their Zellers brand.

Well, last year when I was in the US, I found a grand sum of $0.22 cent

I had this fond memory two years ago as I was walking in NYC and I happened to step upon $11!

Anyway, in one year period: I found $70.65 overall. In US dollar it amounted to $73.23.
Haven't spent it yet as I dunno what I want the money for.

But amazing how others have found a lot of money. Never happened to me.

I have found cash before. I used to work outside everyday as maintenance worker. 4 dollars folded and my foreman found 100 dollar bill. He kept it b/c his boss told him to. Outside workers especially landscapers always find money.

My ex and I found $5,000 in a moneyclip at the grocery store once. We stood there for a quarter of an hour waiting for someone who seemed to be looking for something to walk by but nobody did. It was perfect timing too because someone had just broken into my car and I needed to fix the windows and I wanted to splurge!!! :D

Sometimes I was hard rare found US old fashion lol! 05 or 10 cents!

I found a bank bag years ago with $15,000 in it. :eek3: At the time, I was working for a bank and took it into the branch. We put it into the safe with a note. 2 days later, a man who was just about in tears asked if we knew anything about it. He had been asking everyone in the strip mall where this bank was. We asked him to describe what the money was in and asked for the amount. He was right on the money. Seems, he was on his way into our branch to deposit it, but something happened and he dropped it. It was money for his payroll that was going out that day.

Good thing you brought it in because that's a large amount of money. You can get in trouble if you are caught spending any of it.
