It was snowy day and it got up to 6 inches. So I had to get up on the roof to shovel the snow off the roof. That prevent the melted snow leaked thru the roof into my bedroom.

I told my son, Randy, that I am going up to the roof. He wanted to come along as he have done before. So we went up to the roof. Everything went great and having blast throwing snow at each other. Randy want to see our dog but couldnt see her. So I went to the front of my house and told him, here she is. Then he walked toward me but he stopped. I looked at him and said to myself uh oh. The next thing I knew he fell thru the roof and landed on the deck below. At first I saw his eyes was wide open with scared. He tried to grab on to something but nothing hold him back. In my mind, Oh God please let him be alright. It really scare me and was afraid to lose him. Nest I hear nothing and ran to the ladder to go down. As soon as I touched the ground I heard a cried. Then I ran around the corner of my house and found him standing in the snow, holding his arm and telling me, "It's hurt!". In my mind said whewwwwwwwwww he is still alive.

We went to the hospital and waited to be seen. While we were there, we went to the gift shop and I brought him a moose stuffed animal. He lighted up and smile. He was holding it tight and said thanks mom!! We were at the hospital for over 3 hrs. As we seen the doctor and told he is going to get his X-ray done.

The x-ray technician came in and got Randy. They left and I waited for them to return. When they returned, Randy has something to show me and it was a pix of x-ray. At first I thought they were showing me the arm of Randy but not it was the moose name Chocolate Moose. LOL I was so cute and Randy was thrilled to have it. Finally we were able to go home with no broken bone or scratch. Sigh what a relieve.

He is happy with is Moose and now sleeping with his Moose. Cute

6 inches of snow. It stopped just before we left the hospital.

aww how sweet of take xray on moose that so cute and glad your son is allright. I am sure in future both of you will laugh at this incident.

Sure must have been one scary moment for the two of you to go through but totally relieved that he ended up being fine but shaken...btw, how old is he if you don't mind sharing that with us? Leaving the hospital in good spirits may wipe away the scary ordeal...give it time, I'm sure he'll head up to the roof when he is older and being more careful.

Glad that everything is fine and well now-- ;)

you are lucky. my husband's cousin's wife.. lives in michigan... anyway :| s.......

she was shoving snow off the roof. she slipped on ice and fell and landed on concrete pavement. busted her bones. she broke her both pelvis, femurs...nose. ribs. u name it all. she was in body cast for a while and took her so long time to recover....

Don't just go up and shovel the snow.

I had to go up there to shovel the snow off the roof otherwise I will leaking thru the roof to my bedroom floor. It help prevent any more damage to it and try not to get it worse or it will cost $$$ to get it fix. So I will get it fix when the warm weather come and hopefully I wont have to go up there next year.

that's remind me of our dear cousin.. he was about in his 30's... it was happening around 1988...he had 3 sons.. the sons were playing on ground, he was on roof.. he slipped and fell all way from roof and landed on deck.. he didnt wake for almost 4 months.. he has to start all over again like baby steps and mind develops.. dont remembered us or all... after cruel months.. finally his memories setback and walk again.. but hes not the same man before the accident. we are glad that we have alot of supports and patiences.. he still have slur speech and slow to think right way.. like i met him.. he wasnt sure if he knows me.. his wife have to explain.. he perks and ohh yes i -- knn-ow you!.. then his sons made walletsize book .. with pics on it .. if he wasnt sure remember or knows someone.. he looks up and remembered.. without embarassing.. but I want to say this.. we want decicated his wife with honor and love of patients.. she been by him 100% for long time.. espically they had small children to raise and go through too..

after our dear cousin fell off the roof.. I get scared to see people on it.. cuz its scares.. (shudders)

My roof is flat and it can be easily leaking thru. Yea I do have house insurance but they dont cover if it is normal wear and tear. Rats but I am planning to put metal sheet on it this summer instead of roll of roof. It better that way. :D Then I will stay off the roof next year.

Dang, I feel responsible.
I wish to goodness I did not screw up the repairs.
*kicking myself*

OMG Hope your son is doing well. Reminds me of my grandpa that he fell off the roof during snow & broken his shoulder and arm.. Glad that your son did not break any of bones. He sure is stronger...

That was freaky! Guess that's the last time he'll ever be on the roof. Glad he's ok.
