Hello, I have a severe migraine today, this particular headache started about a week ago, coming in a dull ache to a severe pain, but last night I was in so much pain, I couldn't sleep. This morning my head was hurting so bad, it is a full blown migraine, the nausea, the sensativity to light, and smells. The pain is excruciating. Please help me, what can I do for the pain, I am desperate for relief. I can't just sleep it off either, I am babysitting for a friend who is in surgery.

Ouch that's bad, Migraine is similar to headache but much more worse and painful. I suggest going to a doctor because headache pills are not powerful enough to relief the pain. Lie down and get some rest and skip work until you feel better. Sorry I couldn't be of any help. :dunno: Hope you feel better and we are here for you.

Thanks for the suggestion. I am going to call my doctor and see if she will prescribe me some medication.

Usually, your neck's two vertebrates pitched the nerves that cause a migraine. You might want to discuss with a chiropractor about it first instead of a doctor.

The last resort, then you will need to see a doctor.

My mother's best friend had a migraine for many years. She was convinced to see a chiropractor. After a few treatments, she felt better. I think that she was on a QXCI treatment which last half hour. Of course, the device never hurt anything or no shock at all. In fact, she never had another migraine for almost six years, and she doesn't need more treatments. That's great.

You are the second person that has suggested that. I have also been suggested to get my vision checked. It could be tension too, my neck, shoulders and back are all stiff. I can't tell if it is tense because my head it hurting or if the headache is causing the tension.

Hello Jasmine...I see you are from Oklahoma! Im a native
Oklahoman too but currently living in New York and have
been for 2 years now..
Anyways, i truly understand your suffering because i do
suffer from migraines and have for years so i would suggest
for you to do is go to the dr and he will evaluate the cause
of your migraines as he did me at first like cat scan to make
sure there is no brain tumors. Im now taking prescription
Imitrex and it is just wonderful but it not for everybody. Of
course there are many other kinds of pain relievers that will
work for you. Good luck!!
Oh by the way, the reasons for my migraines were hereditary.

There are many reasons and theories to cause of migraines. I myself take Immitrex as well when I get migraine headache. There are many different anti migrane medicines. Some of them are individualizd on what the believed cause to be. With antimigraine meds it is even trial and error till some people fine one that works great for them. Still there are some that never find any adequate relief. If it is headache that has gone on for days, I'd be check with family MD for further guidence on this matter. Yes also cervical vertebre issues can cause migraine, but then so can about a dozen things not already mentioned be attributed to migraine causes, so I recommend physical assessment from a physician if you have had bad symptoms for days, ok.

Thanks for the good luck. You are right, my mom and grandmother get them. They both tell me it got better as they got older. I started migraines when I was 15, they treated me with anti depressants, and then later I injured my back holding a scared child during one of our firedrills at the day care center. He was a heavy toddler and I had 5 other one year olds to get outside to the safe zone. All scared to death. With all of that I managed to injure my back and I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

That might be a minor dislocated disc. But, you managed to walk which is a good sign. Actually, it is definitely that you have to see a chiropractor.

I met and told three people in the past about their sore back. Two people did not believe in chiropractor which is fine with me. They went ahead for their back surgery. Unfortunately, in fact, they have a permanent damage from the surgery. They have to take a pain killer everyday for rest of their life. I tried to convince them to see a chiropractor first before having the surgery. That's why they didn't do it.

In fact, one of these three people went to the chiropractor. Fortunately, his back is 95 percent better for a couple of weeks. Then, he went for some adjustment appointments for a few months. His back is all better as 100 percent. It takes a long time to heal the nerves.

My upper leg's nerves grow back that took two years due my doctor somehow cut some tiny nerves during my heart surgery. It is 99 percent better now, and I am fine with that.

A chiropractor does not cut your skin or does not inject a needle into your skin. The chiropractor's job is to adjust on the vertebrates. Sometimes, they offer some treatments as a QXCI or a cold laser which is to reduce the pains. QXCI finds and tells you what's wrong. It also correct the energy path in your body system which is really amazing stuff. QXCI treatment is quite expensive, but it's your body which is worth than anything else. I don't know whether you are going to try to see a chiropractor, please let us know on the post or pm me. Wish you a good luck!

FYI, Migraines will not cure.. Just stuck forever.. :(
I have one and accept.

Any kinds treatment will helps your migraines goes away.. No such thing!

Just take your trust medicines

Sometimes, chiropractors make it worse when there wasn't a problem in the first place and they make it worse.

Did you do anything recently or did something happen recently that might have lead to these headaches? Did you bang your head recently? Were you in a car accident and suffered whiplash? Did you eat something that you might have been allergic to?

Migraines is the worst thing one can have. Like u were saying ur mother and grandmother had it meaning it Hereditary. U will never get rid of it until u pass ur menopause stage. I suffer from them and just take a day at a time but if it get worse the only thing i do is go to the doc and get a shot in the butt and sleep it off and it works.

I agree. I used to get migraines all the time but now I rarely ever get them. I used to wonder if it was possible to die from the pain. It was that bad.

Hey there...I agree with webexplorer. My friend just had surgery in her neck to adjust the vertabraes over the summer. She was getting migraines daily for 2 years and the drs couldnt find out what was wrong. Finally, one specialist discovered that it was a pinched nerve in her neck. She hasnt had a migraine since her surgery but has to wear a neck brace from time to time cuz her neck is still healing.

No I have noth done anything that would cause my head to hurt. Allergies sparked the first minor headaches, then the headache just grew worse with each passing day. Stress is also one of my biggest stressors. School, finances, activities, and my cat being sick is all stressing me out. I was hoping that this headache would be gone (Saturday) but I woke up with it even being worse. I am going to just stay in bed all day, I wish I had more Stargate to watch. Make it a marathon day, but I got my grandpa addicted to Stargate so he has all my season dvds. lol.

Oh I know that feeling. I told my boyfriend today, at this point I wish I were dead. I would have ran myself into a wall just to pass out so I could escape this pain. Migraines are a curse and I wouldn't wish them upon anyone.

Oh geez..that sounds worse than the migraines I get. I have never felt a need to be dead when I get them so I guess yours are far worse.

Can get yourself checked out to see if any nerves in your back are being pinched?

I have had migraines for many years. I could aways tell when it was about to happen because of the aura. Everything would smell rotten. It took many years for the neurologist to find out they were migraines and not allergies. It does take trial and error to find the medicine. I ended up on neurotin three time a day and maxalt with an outbreak. They also had me on prescription aleve 500 mgs twice a day for 10 days out of the month.

If you would like quick relief from this migraine, try aleve. Take 500 mg. It usually gets the migraine away. You will be exhausted the next few days. Also don't drink any caffine for a few days. My doctor also said to drink water to flush out your system.

I hope you feel better. I don't wish them on anyone. (I have been migraine free for over a year)
