Mental Health Experts have serious lack of ethics:

Even within the interpreting field we have terps who receive additional specialized training in order to work in the mental health field. Yes, mental health services for deaf individuals is a specialty within the field.

Yes, it is a specialty. Not only within the terping field, but within the counseling field as well. There are many programs that offer an additional year of internship working with deaf individuals in order to receive the certificate of specialty.

However how many deafies actually have access to those services, let alone be able to afford the proper care?
Aye, there's the problem. Not enough mental health professionals that recognize the special needs of the deaf, and not enough specialist terps to go around. :(

lol, these two are tame... very tame, compared to what you dished out.

I even said you had the cred = you have respect. And you're just showing that you aren't a professional.

I wouldn't even want my kids to be around you.

Again, you should be able to say or do anything you wish, but refuse to allow others the same consideration.

I am not in a professional capacity on a talk forum.

Again, that is supposed to affect me how? Is you not wanting your kids to be around me supposed to change my life in some monumental way?

Unfortunately, not nearly enough, souggy. Those with the credentials and the experience are too few in number. And generally, you will find pocket areas with the specialty available, rather than being equitably distributed.

Just stating that you can behave better. Is all.

And again, I am an equal opportunity "forum call-"out-ter" " if that is even a term to describe what I am. I call anything as I see it to *ANYONE* on this forum. Just ask them.

Right now, I appreciate Steinhauer better than you. And if you wanted that perspective to change, you know exactly what to do.

Again, I am not the only one with this opinion, there are several others, I'm just straight up talker, no BS, maybe crude, but yeah, I call it as I see it.

Can't get everyone to like you.

You're no populist either. ;)

I like you, but I know a few that bashed you behind your back. And I know there's a few that bashed me behind my back as well. :D

Of course. What they fail to realize is that they bash me, and whoever they bashed me with comes and tells me..... I love it.

I don't aim for popularity. :)

Quite frankly, I don't recall seeking your advise regarding the quality of my behavior.

Perhaps you should apply the same standards to yourself that you seem to readily apply to others.

Quite frankly, I could not care less what your perspective is. It doesn't affect me or my life in the least.

I just find this whole thing rather ironic, even the thread title. There's always room for disagreements but really...

I agree.
Everyone sees it differently.

Just like I know and see just several work places violates work ethics.

Does that mean they are ALL bad?

Schools, health care, all the way down to a sales person??

One makes it bad?

Had a person tell me. Bad news spread faster and is talked about more than good news.

Same goes for any business. A person gets a good service and make it known. Awesome.

But when a person gets bad service. Ooooh!

Which do you think travels more?

I'm with you 100% on this. Some major ego trips on this thread.

I think part of this is the concept of "professional behavior" wherein those who are "professional" are supposed to become unattached, unemotional, uninvolved, disinterested bystanders, basically, left brain oriented computer like attachments.

This is part of our low context, compartmentalized society.

In short a professional is supposed to act in a "logical" manner after the Dragnet fashion of "Just the facts, ma'm."

Some of us are not certain this attitude toward professionalism is in fact the best attitude to take. Some of us are not sure we want someone who is that out of touch with their emotions to counsel or advise us on how we should handle our own emotions or our own lives.
