Mental Health Experts have serious lack of ethics:

Oh, I see. You should be allowed to say or do anything you wish, but no one else has the right to call you on it.

:sure:

Please take notice, I am not the only one that feels this way about you. Absorb that thought...

And another poster does not have the right to impugn the character, ethics, and motives initially. Not to mention those of an entire profession.
Again, can you defend your position without making personal attacks?

If the position is valid, then the personal attacks aren't necessary for defense, right?

If the position is weak, then even a personal attack won't help defend it.

As a professional, it should be easy for you to avoid the snares of trolling. :)

I guess I'm asking what "supervision" means. In all my time with my PA, I've never seen her talk to the doctor or get permission to do anything.

It is probably like me when I did electrical work on my restoration jobs. I was not licensed but I worked under a license (on paper). I didn't have to speak with that person before doing electrical work, that person was vouching for me so to speak. But if I had ever burned a house down with faulty electrical work the licensee would have been liable and their insurance would be required to pay.

But honestly, I don't recall them being versed in how sensory losses may modify a person's behaviour. This is where sometimes I feel only interpreters and CODAs understand why we do the things we do.

You are quite right, souggy. Those who have not had exposure to, or education about the behavioral aspects of sensory loss often misinterpret behaviors. There are, however, a select few hospitals in the states with units specifically staffed and designed to treat mentally ill individuals who are deaf.

The only personal attacks I see of late are those contained in your above post, and those coming from posts from hell.:cool2:

How do they supervise your job?? To you have to get approval for every sign you translate?
I don't have a supervisor but I get your point. :)

There are some supervisory situations where the supervisor does keep an eagle eye on every move of each person under his watch. Every transaction requires a signature or verification. Then, there are others where the supervisor has that title but has little contact with those under his watch unless a problem pops up.

That's why I asked because the degree of supervision varies from profession to profession, and from location to location.

And again, that is supposed to affect me how?

In no apparent way. Just stating my opinion on how I view you. As someone who is supposedly a professional, you're lacking in forum skillz. Seriously, you should learn from the master of troll, me, on how to dismiss other trolls. That is simply proving them wrong, or ignoring it.

You failed at both.

Even within the interpreting field we have terps who receive additional specialized training in order to work in the mental health field. Yes, mental health services for deaf individuals is a specialty within the field.

We'll begin with post 96 and post 101.

lol, these two are tame... very tame, compared to what you dished out.

I even said you had the cred = you have respect. And you're just showing that you aren't a professional.

I wouldn't even want my kids to be around you.

However how many deafies actually have access to those services, let alone be able to afford the proper care?

Ok you have one bad experience at a doctors office, or facility. Would you go back and find a better one?? Or just say they all are unethical?? And never seek help from any of them??

If it is not intended to affect me in some way, why are you so insistent in making said statements? What is your motive?

Opinions are like ass holes. Everyone has one.
