Many years ago, I got a recipe from step-mother's sister and tried it. It was unbelieved tasty and first time I ate squash. Short time, I lost original recipe and remember some either not find it...
I need to get that recipe so I come here to ask any of you if you had a recipe.
All I remember is: 2 cups of shedded straight or hooked squashes and onions each, salt, black pepper, flour, milk and perhaps shredded sharp cheese topped. All I do is mix the ingredients and pour in baking pan then bake it for 30-40 minutes.

Whatever, I still refused eating beans since first time I ate them. They made me felt gross and almost vomit. Gross...

I'm a squash lover!

Don't know if that's what you're looking for, but here it is...

SQUASH AND ONION CASSEROLE
3 or 4 squash, sliced
1 sm. onion, sliced
1 can cream of chicken soup
1/2 c. grated cheese
Boil squash and onion until tender. Drain. Salt to taste. Put in small casserole or baking dish. Pour soup over squash. Add grated cheese and cover with buttered crumbs. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Serves 4.

No, my missing recipe dont use cream of chicken soup either boiling both squash and onions. And it's not casserole but a kind of "veggie bread".

:dunno: my parents loved squash whenever they could snare one -- dad has since passed on so lately mom hasnt had her squash as far as i know -- their way of making it involved some brown sugar and some other shit -- personally i do NOT like squash :barf: nasty!

THAT sounds good! Onions and Squash? I hope someone can give this recipe because I would love to try it.

Do you think it will taste as good as if I use fat free soup and low fat cheese? Got to watch my weight but love squash and onions!

Sounds tasty! I've never tried squash before, even in a recipe.
And... Katzie, dear... squash lover?? ;) That does remind me of the time my friend told me about an orgasmic experience with that particular staple, and how it ended being dinner by an unsuspecting grandmother.
