It happened on Monday, June 13, 2005. My parents and I were sitting down to eat dinner and it was REALLY windy outside... a thunderstorm was on the way.

As we started on dessert, we heard a LOUD crack... we ran out the door and saw this HUGE dent in my car... a dead tree branch had snapped in half and hit the trunk of my car, just barely missing the rear window...thank goodness.

Im still a little peeved at the tree... I swear I saw it giggle this morning as I pulled out the driveway.

Oh I understand that. I do have a dent on my truck which I got pissed and my cousin think nothing. But now he got a brand new truck just wait til he got a dent on it. Then I will think of it nothing to get even with him.

But sorry I cant help it but to laugh your description. Go kill a tree!!! :giggle:

My parents do have homeowner's insurance, and I do have full coverage, but I would have to pay a $500 deductible first, and my parents had to pay a $1000 deductible to have a section of the roof repaired where the branch poked a hole... *sigh*

We agreed that the dent wasn't "life-threatening" to the car, and I can live with it.

Grr.

Someday I'm gonna get even with the tree.

 I am so sorry to see that happen to you, but, thank God you were not in the car when that happened. I bet the cleanup had to be pretty expensive too.

Oh dear, it´s definitely suck but important is you are not in the car... *phew* I´m glad that you are okay, but car... :(

Her wasn't bad as mine was. I thought I had a pix but it on the video tape. Darn it. Anyway, back in 1995, my exh and I went to bed and our bedroom was in the livingroom. Since the kids got the bedroom *2 bedrooms house*. Anyway, my exh woke me up and told me to look out the window *pointing the window* . So I looked out and to my horror. The big fat tree fall and took the roots out of the ground so close the house. If it had fallen on top of the roof and it would have fallen thru the living room where we have slept. So we are very lucky to be alive. So my exh had someone came by to collect some of the tree for their fireplace.

Thanks, my dear Darling...

And for your question, RedWolf, yes, we used electric and gas chainsaws on that tree branch and the piece still left on the tree. The tree itself is still standing, but the broken branch has been cut off at the main trunk and also another dead branch just next to it. It was all done the next day, after work.

To this day, whenever I leave the driveway, I can see the tree waving its leaves at me... like it was saying... I'll get you someday, my pretty. And then it gives a maniacal giggle, just like the guy in THE SHINING when he pokes his face through the hole he's chopped in the door...

*smh*
